I have a friend who is Hindu and prays to Jesus. She went to a Catholic school in India and has fond memories of her experiences.
I also had a professor by the name of Ravi Ravindra. He wrote the books, “The Yoga of Christ”, and “The Gospel of John and Indian Mysticism.”
The one thing I find in common with both is a tendency to explain Christianity in Hindu terms. So Jesus is an avatar of Vishnu or our doctrine of sin in terms of Karma etc…
My problem with this tendency is that the Bible does not use these terms and concepts. Nor does our Catholic tradition. They don’t really match.
Do you think that Christianty and Hinduism are really saying the same thing?
God Bless.
