The story of the Boniface Wimmer statue at St. Vincent’s Archabbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, with some nice photos from the early 1930s. Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, O.S.B., came from Germany to America in 1846, and founded ten of the earliest Benedictine monasteries in America, from which over thirty now exist. He also founded over 150 churches and parishes, a true American Catholic pioneer!
