Does anyone know how does the church respond to an hiv infected member of its society. Is he considered an irrevocable sinner (if caught from a sexual act) or does the church embrace him still ???

Simply having hiv is not a sin. The way in which he contracted the disease might be a sin but the disease itself is not sinful.

There is no sin that is unforgivable. Paul persecuted Christ and He was forgiven. We have all sinned gravely and must be forgiven. So if the man comes to the Church repentant of his sins then he will be forgiven by Christ and also embraced by the Church.

The father said, do not judge anyone…the only one can judge you is God. Like Mother Thesera loved anyone who was sick or not she did what God told her to do is help the sick.

God Bless all you and goodnight.:hug3:

What is sinful about illness? You can get HIV from totally innocent ways…If you got it committing a sin you go to confession, end of the story

I knew a wonderful priest greatly loved that died of aids…I have no idea when or how he got it. It is none of my business

When asked about the stigma of HIV/AIDS, Blessed Mother Thersa said that a moral issue was being confused with a medical one.

If a man robs a bank and in the get away slips and gets a broken leg, would the church consider the boken leg a sin? No, HIV is an unfortunate reaction to the sin but not a sin itself. Now one could argue that the HIV is actually a blessing as a way for the sinner to “atone” for the sin. The HIV may even be a blessing if it helps the sinner to avoid future sin.
