Wikipedia provides a list of Roman Catholic Entertainers. I think you’ll be surprised at some on the list…

It’s gotta be tough to be religious and a Hollywood actor/actress. Imagine them having to read lines that break the second commandment or doing a scene that may go against the faith. It’s not just Catholics, but other christians as well.

I think some of the people listed have obviously left the church.
Very cool that Frank Sinatra was catholic. Now I love him even more:D
I think I heard somewhere that Elijah Wood was catholic.

Mel built a chapel that SSPX say mass at from what I have heard. However they are valid masses and attending them does not technically change his status as a Catholic.

The Greek Orthodox Church has valid Masses too. But I wouldn’t call someone a Catholic if he attended Mass there when he could easily go to a Catholic Mass. Mel is a schismatic.

And how could you all forget Grace Kelly?

This is true. And I hope that Nicole stays faithful because “Hollywood” can do some harm and poison their hearts but I hope that’s not the case with Nicole. My prayers are with her. :gopray:
She may have gotten her marriage to Mr. Cruise annulled, but I wonder if she and Mr. Urban were chaste prior to their marriage.
Hollywood Catholics…sounds like an oxymoron to me…kinda like jumbo shrimp.

I wonder if you were chaste prior to your marriage. - not that I even know if you are married

(I don’t really, but I’d say your remark falls under the realm of gossip, what say you?)

Maybe he has already been named, but the old dad from Everybody Loves Raymond was Catholic. Darn! What is his name:confused:

Peter Boyle. He was a Catholic (He was in a monastary for three years) but I don’t know if he maintained his Catholicism to his death, but I think so.

Here’s a gigantic list of famous Catholics (not only in Hollywood)

I’m not 100 per cent sure, but I think Helen Hayes was Catholic. And I have read that Susan Hayward was an adult convert. Supposedly she was quite devout in her private life, and was grateful for the spiritual comfort she received from the Church.
I read somewhere that Susan Hayward also built a Catholic church, somewhere in Georgia, I believe. Wish I had more info about that…

Also, Rosalind Russell was said to be very devout. Perfect choice for the Reverend Mother in “The Trouble with Angels” !!!

(Great family movie for Catholics, btw. Check it out!)

I don’t know if they’re actually Catholic, but those embarrassing Hilton girls both graduated fromo Manhattan’s Convent of the Sacred Heart.:o :o

Thankfully I am no longer married. My life, generally speaking, is private. I am not on the cover of multiple magazines. No, being in the public eye does not mean “open season”. But don’t say what a “good Catholic” you are from a bedroom you ought not be in prior to marriage.

Here goes:
  1. Gary Cooper (convert)
  2. John Wayne (convert)
  3. Bob Hope (convert)
  4. Mel Gibson (probable schismatic)
    5. Peter Weller
  5. Martin Sheen (revert)
  6. Alec Gunneiss (convert)
  7. Patrick McGoohan
Everyone, feel free to add to the list 🙂
Makes sense, Robocop was a very thinly veiled metaphorically retelling of bits and pieces of the gospels and the book of Revelation.

I thought she left the Church recently (2-3 years ago) and became a presbyterian.

Please tell me I"m wrong!!
You are not wrong, but she has said that she’s still Catholic and only attends because of her Hubby’s beliefs.
