More of the kind of “healing” you can expect from the left . . . . .

Hollywood celebrities are attacking and mocking Rudy Giuliani following President Donald Trump’s announcement that the former New York mayor was diagnosed with COVID-19. Among the mudslingers were the corporate comedians of late-night TV — Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Trevor Noah.

“We didn’t even think that dead guys could get corona,” Trevor Noah snarked on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show .

The former mayor is now “America’s Sprayer,” joked Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night ABC show.

“When the news broke, the coronavirus was like, ‘Da## I should have worn a mask,'” Jimmy Fallon quipped . . . . .

He was the subject of comedy before he had COVID-19 too. This is nothing new.

I guess in your world ThinkingSapien (or at least using your principles), this makes kicking a guy when he is physically down OK.
(Why make “excuses” for this rotten behavior TS??)

I disagree with you.

I do not think that physically assaulting him, whether he is up or down, to be okay.

But otherwise, public figures, even limited public figures, will be a topic of discussion. To make a statement to the public is to invite a response to that statement. To put one’s self into the public is to invite dialog about one’s self.

And to grandstand with lies, and waste the time of multiple courts with frivolous lawsuits, certainly invites talk of at least discipline by the bar, and possibly disbarment.

He was asking for it! Why not give him hades even as he is compromised by corona virus?

And for good measure disbar him too! Or at least “discipline” him.

To the readers:

And this is the “healing” you are offered. Beware.

Well that settles it I guess.
Was there something to settle? If so, I’m glad that there is no closure on what ever it is.

But I get the expression (and not just from this thread) that there is some expectation that if one exercises their speech, that the person be freed from any and all consequences of it (Absolute Free Speech). But I can’t imagine a scenario involving people with free will in which this can occur. In short, words matter.

But might I suggest never going to a live comedy show. Simply by being present there, a person in the audience may be selected and made the topic of ridicule.

I’m sure that’s not the motivation to make him the topic of jokes. Remember that he has been the target of jokes since before he had the virus. As far as I can tell, they are treating him consistently in sickness and in health.

No.

Yes but he/she doesn’t proverbially go to sick people’s homes and ridicule them for political gain. At least not the kind of comedy I have seen.

Just more “excuses” from you ThinkingSapien.

I disagree with your outlook here.

Sure. Bad.

Did someone enter Guliani’s home within invite? That’s not good. Also, he is infected. Entering his domain could be hazardous to one’s health!
