Liked that Quote about our church being the hardest to live by --Martin Luther was to have said something to that order @ the end of his life. Had an interesting experience caring for the father of a Luthern Minister ( @ a catholic nursing home ) when he was dying of cancer. We actually discussed Luther being a catholic priest and why he left the church. I mentioned to him that Martin Luther was to have had a life size picture of the Blessed Mother in his library and in the evening when I made my rounds we prayed together ( Hail Mary included ). This family had a unique ecumenical experience as they bonded with our staff. Not sure what that has to do with "Year to St Paul " – maybe someone could expand ! 🙂

A distinct possibility.

To me this is kind of exciting. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. The Church hasn’t had a year dedicated to something since Pope John Paul the Great dedicated 2004-2005 to the Eucharist. I wonder if indulgences will be granted to those who make a pilgrimage to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls?

What do you think could happen??

Who knows?

I just hope that we’ve had a year dedicated to St Peter at some point (though I suppose for us Catholics EVERY year is dedicated to St Peter!)

By the way it’s the feast of Peter and Paul next Friday - everybody do a novena for our Holy Father - heaven knows he needs it!

👍

perhaps indulgences for evangelization

👍

It occured to me that Eucharistic Adoration has become the fruit of the year dedicated to the Eucharist. St Paul was a persecutor of the Christians until he had his big conversion. Our Holy Father is very concerned about the Christians being persecuted in Iraq and China. St Paul Pray for Us !
