It basically says you can see new meanings in even the oldest of God’s Words, so they are ever growing. In Judaism with Torah, like a fig it keeps ripening and you discover new layers and depths of knowledge in it.This is from The Parable of the Net.
Basically the first part talks about the judgment of people. As far as the part you quoted honestly I have no idea what it means although I think it is in a negative light. This is why I say that one needs formal religion. I have no idea what this passage means and I’m sure that others don’t as well.

But with religions, they close the lid and you are stuck there chained to their doctrine, anything new is often seen as heretical. That’s one thing I like about Judaism, it is more of an evolving religion. Though it also goes too far sometimes when it evolves past the need for God.

I agree with what both of you are saying here. Faith, Love of God, Living in truth, Listening to the Spirit, these are the truly Godly things.
Religion on the other hand is more like the “Code of Law” in a country. Society needs laws, but then they keep adding more and more laws until it becomes restrictive and counter-productive.
I too like the idea of looking at the best of different religions, though I have never strayed too far from the shore of Christianity. I took as my giudepost that any religion which follows the two great commandments, Love of God and Love of neighbor, should be regarded in a rightious light.
Again, I appreciate the quality of (name removed by moderator)ut and insight that this thread is providing.
