 As opposed to 40,000 dead in Mexico’s drug war? Or the hundreds of tortured and murdered bodies found in streets every week? What is it you think he’ll learn that he hasn’t probably already seen with his own eyes?
And of course this is the same DEA that was part of the ill fated “fast and furious” scheme that resulted in over 200 US government issued guns ending up at crime scenes in Mexico…
My sincere apologies. Perhaps what the fight against the Colombian and Mexican Drug Cartels really need is a strong collective U.N. military effort of Shock and Awe. But because this is serious affront on American soil which some may think makes it (“only”) an American government problem which really it isn’t; because these illegal drugs find themselves spread through an entire network encompassing several countries.

It is a seriously bigger problem than most of the public realize, especially considering what takes place behind the scenes. Sadly though I don’t foresee any easy solution to bringing a stop to the drug cartels who may have influenced shady business partnership with global big business operatives and even possibly top U.S. government officials.

This kind of conspiracy may sound too Hollywood, but the average person will never likely know.

Drugs are indeed an international problem. In the USA people seem to think that the Mexican government just needs to “crack down harder” yet there’s been 40,000 killed since President Calderone launched his very real “war on drugs” and the cartels don’t seem any weaker.
There are indeed problems in Mexico, corruption being the biggest. However, the money and guns that the cartels have come from other countries.

My point was simply that we should not assume the priest was being flip or disrespectful of the Mass. All we have is a news clip and the news doesn’t always accurately reflect what took place. Perhaps we think there could have been a more effective method of getting his point across but let’s not forget even if his methods were silly and ineffective they still could very well put him in the crosshairs of a local cartel and for that he deserves support…

I don’t know what to make of the context, but the device could be useful. This could be a very effective means for an exorcist’s assistant trying to protect themself and keep the possessed person subdued, like a tazer for demons…

I agree he has the best intentions. Do you think maybe he should not have used holy water in a squirt gun to make his point?

Do Christians fight guns with guns? (even though it is symbolic)

Perhaps it was an analogy to beating swords into plowshares…

There was actually a short story written about this, where a young boy who had mischievously filled a water pistol from a holy water font managed with a well-aimed squirt to prevent the Devil from destroying the world.

Oooh?? What story? I like the sound of this!

I would have preferred full immersion in Holy Water than getting zapped by a plastic super water cannon.

Kinda makes me think of visiting priest during the Easter season doing spiritual retreat with a Mass service and using huge cedar branches dipped in portable glass holy water vessels. If you were lucky to be sitting nearest to an aisle pew while the priest came down the aisle you got absolutely soaked.
Maybe the priest should have used the aspergillum pictured here (about halfway down)

😃
