Galatians 1:9, ā€œAs we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone preach a Gospel to you other than that which you have received, let him be Anathema.ā€**

Come on guys!!

Don’t let the thread die!
we need more pictures!

A handpainted icon of my patron, John the Apostle. I doubt I’ll be able to get any of his relics anytime soon.

I realize this thread is rather old, but here is a picture of my homemade altar:

Beautiful ornate crucifix… šŸ™‚

A votive candle would go along nicely under the crucifix too.
Thank you! šŸ‘ I actually found the crucifix in an antique shop and fell in love. šŸ™‚ I need to get a little votive candle… Maybe I’ll get one today at Wal-Mart. 😃

Whew! I’ve read through this entire thread!

To the person who asked about where to get blessed salt, try www.cukierski.net.

Like another poster said, I am very heartened by the great number of young people who are doing home altars.

I have statues, pictures and crucifixes all over my house, but I consider my main prayer corner to be my icon corner. I had them hung on a wall w/ a bunch of non-religious pictures and it just didn’t ā€œfit.ā€ Also, I am awful at nailing pictures straight, so my dh rehung them for me in a corner next to our fire place. I can see it when I sit on my couch in the living room.

Sorry about the poor quality of the picture. If I knew how to make it smaller, it wouldn’t be so annoyingly grainy.

The icons are: the creation of the animals, Saint John Canticus, Protection of the Mother of God, Christ the Teacher, Saint Michael and Madonna and Child.

I was amazed at how much religious stuff I found in antique shops…I guess I just don’t think these things through.
I found this Crucifix at a local shop, its only 3 or 4 inches tall, but I love it’s design. It’ll be great for a desk…if I ever get one.

Beautiful!

So many ideas from this thread!! I can’t wait to get moved into my new house and make my own! šŸ‘

Could you help me with this too?
I’d like to get a relic of St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi.
šŸ™‚
Both of those Relics would be very hard, if not impossible, to obtain. As St. Patrick is a very ancient Saint, I doubt Relics have been distributed for centuries, if they ever were. as to St. Francis, the Franciscans hold his Relics in great honor and veneration, I do not think they ever distribute them anymore. I have been tryiing for a very long time to get one and have still not succeded.
