Your question can be interpreted in so many different ways, there just isn’t an answer to it.Can laypeople do homebound communion? Documentation please.
What do you mean by “homebound communion”? That’s the question.I was doing homebound communion but then a priest I know said absolutley not. This is to be done by a priest or deacon. I’m looking for something that says it is to be done by the ordained or something that says in some cases a layperson can do it.
Well, whatever you’re referring to, if he tells you no, it’s no. That’s it. He’s the priest, and he won’t allow you. You must obey.I was doing homebound communion but then a priest I know said absolutley not. This is to be done by a priest or deacon. it is an extension of the role of emhc. if it is possible for an ordained person or an instituted acolyte to do it, he should. lay people should only do it if its absolutely impossible for the priest(s) and deacon(s) and instituted acolytesI was doing homebound communion but then a priest I know said absolutley not. We do not know if the “(the) priest I know” means his pastor or is even assigned to his parish.Well, whatever you’re referring to, if he tells you no, it’s no. That’s it. He’s the priest, and he won’t allow you. You must obey.

Really your question cannot be answered till we know that . Would you please state what** you **mean .can laypeople do homebound communion
Are you scheduled as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the homebound and have had training on what to do? Or are you just a layperson who wants to be of service to a friend, an acquaintance or family member by bringing them Communion?I was doing homebound communion but then a priest I know said absolutley not. This is to be done by a priest or deacon. I’m looking for something that says it is to be done by the ordained or something that says in some cases a layperson can do it.
EMHC to the homebound are lay persons who have been asked to do this service and have had training. A lay person cannot just take it upon themself to bring Communion to a family member because Father or the Deacon can’t get to it.it is an extension of the role of emhc. if it is possible for an ordained person or an instituted acolyte to do it, he should.** lay people should only do it if its absolutely impossible for the priest(s) and deacon(s) and instituted acolytes**
so if he says he can do it, you should not be doing it.
[Redemtionis Sacramentum](http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/c...0423_redemptionis-sacramentum_en.html#Chapter II)[133.] A Priest or Deacon, or an extraordinary minister who takes the Most Holy Eucharist when an ordained minister is absent or impeded in order to administer it as Communion for a sick person, should go insofar as possible directly from the place where the Sacrament is reserved to the sick person’s home, leaving aside any profane business so that any danger of profanation may be avoided and the greatest reverence for the Body of Christ may be ensured. Furthermore the Rite for the administration of Communion to the sick, as prescribed in the Roman Ritual, is always to be used.[226]
no, i’m not meaning to imply that in any way they can do it themselves.EMHC to the homebound are lay persons who have been asked to do this service and have had training. if you mean, may a lay person be commissioned and properly trained as a communion minister for this sick, whether they are confined at home or in a hospital or another institution, yes they may, by permission of the pastor. They must learn how to do it, the proper service and ritual for bringing communion to the sick and homebound, and obtain the sacred species and transport it properly. I did not mean to suggest that you in any way implied something that you did not. I was merely expounding upon your correct replyno, i’m not meaning to imply that in any way they can do it themselves.
