Here’s a new one for me:
Is this typical to have the priest give the full 10-15 minute homily before the first reading was done? Then the mass continued, responsorial psalm, 2nd reading, the Gospel. But right after the Gospel we just moved to the creed.
So this was at a parish in Wisconsin I was visiting, after mass we asked the priest and he said it’s the way he’s always said mass–the way he learned in the seminary.
I am not criticizing this I am just curious if anyone else goes to mass in this order?
I’ve lived all over the US and haven’t seen this before.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
God bless.
