I’m from the Coast of Mississippi, and I recently moved to Boston to attend college. I was attending mass at a Church near me for a short time and the priest there was so cool. He had a great way of reaching the young adults there with his words, and I was moved to tears from a few of his homilies. Then one Sunday, I went to mass and have since not gone back. During his homily he started speaking openly about how women will hopefully be able to become priests soon, and then acknowledged an “Episcopalian Priestess” in the crowd of folks, and she happened to be sitting near me. I was infuriated… but most of all I felt heart broken. I felt like I had finally found a guy here that I could relate to and come to for help… and I didn’t feel as alone. Boy, was I wrong.
I kept getting panic attacks in that Church… and I had no idea why. Since the first time I went there, I always felt strange. Not sure if that is even worth mentioning, but I figured that I would throw it in there.
I started going to St. Anthony’s Shrine in the city… which is home to the Friars… O.F.M… REAL cool dudes there. I’ve made that my place to be on Sundays(and weekdays when I can make it), but I still think about the other priest all the time… and I try to include him in my prayers often.
Later that day after mass, I wrote the archdiocese but still have no recieved a reply? I don’t know what to do! Should I talk to the priest? Let it go? Write to the archdiocse again, or what?
Prayers are needed, folks. I spoke to a few members of the church that had known this priest for a while, and I asked them how he feels about abortion. They told me that he’s more on the liberal side of things. EDIT
I need advice. Please help.
