Compare two people
  1. a “catholic” who goes to church daily and prays twice a day. But she HATES same sex relationships and openly scolds the transexuals
  2. an innocent girl, who loves girls and not boys, and is a fine citizen.
Who enters the Kingdom of God? The one who spreaded hate or the one who loves?
We always heard preaches about love and the power of it. What’s wrong with love between a couple of the same sex?

Maybe if she is invincible ignorant it could be number two. But number two didn’t spread love if being a good citizen is all that she was. If she repents of any mortal sins and dies in a state of grace, then number one has a better chance but she will probably go to purgatory first.

The love in that relationships is not love per se (Charity should be used as a replacement since it’s definition is more stable and Christian) but could be a misguided affection or something else. (It’s hard to tell without details) Consider a man that falls in “love” with another woman and leaves his wife, is that good? Or what about an incestual relationship?

It is also within the realm of possibilities that they both don’t enter.

I don’t get it.
See, my best friend recently fell in love with girl. She (my best friend) is the kind of person who goes out of her way to help people. She is very kind.
Does all her merits be covered by her fault of giving love to the wrong gender?

Kind isn’t really descriptive enough to analyse, and there are also things like intentions that need to be considered. Really only God knows, but with reason and revelation it is possible to see if something can be an impedement to someone’s salvation.

We can love , and should love , everyone.
We must live by God’s law.
That law says no sex before a marriage , a marriage ordained by God, as righteous.

Absolutely nothing.

“By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.” John 13:35

Sexual relations between two members of the same sex outside the sacrament of marriage is another issue. One that you should discuss with your parents, priest, or counselor since you are a minor. Also feel free to utilize the search function on this forum as your inquiry has been asked and answered before. I’m not trying to be dismissive, but to answer your question fully would require language I’m not comfortable using with a minor female.

I grew up in a home that wasn’t Christian and I remember that I thought that if a person thought it was wrong that 2 people lived together that weren’t married, they must hate them. If someone said a teenage girl shouldn’t get pregnant, they must hate teenage girls who get pregnant.

At some point I realized that these people, who said certain actions were wrong, did not hate people who did those actions. That was a huge assumption on my part.

If someone was at a party drinking, and then they went to drive home, is it wrong to tell them not to drive? Or is it a loving thing to do? Saying No to someone does not mean you hate them.

This is really your best friend’s issue, not yours. If she is concerned about her salvation then she should talk to a priest. Otherwise, as long as she’s not leading you into sin, then you just pray for her and continue to be friends.

The same would apply to someone who goes to church but criticizes LGBTQ people. That person who is doing the churchgoing and criticizing needs to deal with their own spiritual life and discuss it with a priest.

It is not for us to judge who’s going to be saved and who isn’t. You’re asking us to judge and say that one is more sinful or the other one is more sinful. We can’t do this because we don’t have the complete, full knowledge of what’s in the person’s heart, and the Bible tells us not to judge.

I also agree with PennyinCanada that a person disapproving of what someone else does and maybe speaking to them about it does not equal “hatred”. The person who is “scolding” may see that as a loving act of correction. You can disapprove of someone’s behavior without hating the person. My mother disapproved of some things I did and she scolded me quite a bit but she never hated me. She loved me very much.

If either or both get into Heaven, it will be despite their sins; in other words, each of them has a chance of missing out on Heaven* because of their sins.

God judges each of us with complete justice and with complete mercy. He can see into our hearts and He knows everything about us. Because we can’t know as much about a person, we cannot say more about attaining Heaven than those things Jesus taught us.

*either for a while in Purgatory or forever in Hell

If someone is drinking and then wants to drive home, they might get into an accident and kill or injure someone else, so it’s proper to say something to them. But if two people are gay and are in a same-sex relationship, they’re not hurting anyone and it’s no one else’s business what they do in bed.

It’s true, it’s none of my business why a couple of guys are living together. I actually have neighbors that are a couple of guys and I am the best neighbor I can be to them.

However, I remember what my life was like before having God in it, and I wish the blessing and grace of a life with God for everyone. We do have a fallen nature, we do go off the path that God wishes for us. My desire is that we all become saints. If there was a magic wand to wave that would make that happen, we would not recognize this world at all. But, thanks to God, there is heaven in front of us. We often make decisions like there is no heaven or God. There is.

Since we’re told that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, using them in a sexual manner not in accordance with God’s design for it, then it becomes sin. Not only is the sin against God, but also against our ourselves & our own bodies.

On a more down to earth level, when we engage in sexual activity, it leaves one open to risks - like sexually transmitted diseases. In this day & age, it’s like playing Russian Roulette especially since some such diseases are becoming more resistant to treatment. An act intended to bond, bring life, & bring goodness to the world, now has the potential for hurt, illness, & even death with it.

It can put one in a mindset of seeking other partners for more excitement, & in so doing, can further put us in a position of becoming less connected in physical intimacy. People can become objects for one’s personal use & are discardable once used.

Not to mention any heartache one might suffer should a breakup occur…Sex always complicates relationships.

Believe it or not, even some same-sex couples are in monogamous relationships, in which case there is no risk of sexually transmitted diseases. And many straight people, even married people, sleep around and are at risk of contracting an STD. And as for people becoming “objects for one’s personal use & are discardable once used,” this can happen just as easily in a heterosexual marriage as what it can in a same-sex marriage.

Let me start with the first point & work backwards. I do not disagree that heteros can also fall under the same, & this is not in question. Where it becomes questionable is at the first point because for some, monogamous = monogamish, which is no monogamy. Secondly, a same-sex couple is not the same as a hetero couple.

And I’m sure that for some straight couples, monogamous = monogamish. If someone wants to say that same-sex relationships are sinful according to their religion, I have no problem with that. But there is nothing inherent in homosexuality that makes disease or promiscuity more likely. In fact, women in lesbian relationships are statistically less likely to get an STD that what straight people in heterosexual relationships are (for some reason, lesbians rarely get brought up when people seek to link STDs and promiscuity to homosexuality).

OP, you seem to have transgender and homosexuality mixed up.
Hate is wrong, so is sexual activity outside of marriage.
All sins can be repented of and forgiven.
Also, you didn’t say if the first person hates the idea of sex outside of the marriage bond, or the folks who engage in it.

Your question oversimplifies.
For one thing sex is not love.
For another ‘scolds’ and ‘spreads hate’ are not the same thing.
For a third, opposing an idea or a practice does not have to mean being hateful.
