COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. — When St. Paul and Minneapolis Archbishop John Nienstedt was invited to celebrate Mass at St. John’s University’s Abbey Church on Sept. 26, the last thing he expected was a protest.
A protest is what he got.
ncregister.com/register_exclusives/homosexual-activists-confront-archbishop-at-college-mass/In response, the archbishop upheld Church teaching, just as his predecessor Archbishop Harry Flynn did, by denying homosexual activists holy Communion and choosing to bless them instead.
Praise be to God that Archbishop John Nienstedt had the courage to deny these homosexual activists the Eucharist! :extrahappy: If only more bishops and priests would deny the Eucharist to those who they know to be in a state of deliberate opposition to the Church. I can think of at least one more person than just these homosexual activists who need to be denied the Eucharist though… Nancy Pelosi! She is very much a pro-abortion person and yet she also claims to be Catholic at the same time. Well, I hate to tell you this Nancy, but what you are doing is wrong. You cannot be both Catholic and pro-abortion!
That said, it seems to me that all of these people who choose to come to Mass to protest a teaching of the Church need to be disciplined. For the worst cases, excommunication would be a good idea. I, for one, think Nancy Pelosi should have been excommunicated a long time ago. And no, I do not say this out of contempt or hatred for her. I say that out of love for her. After all, excommunication is a remedial action, not a punishing one.
