What makes homosexuality immoral is that it is against God’s plan for man and woman. It has nothing to do with feelings. Love does not justify everything. A man can love someone other than his wife and commit adultery - does the fact that there is love make it OK? Even with love, the Church says premarital sex is a sin.And this, Mea Culpa is where we get to a brick wall. When all else fails for the Catholic side of the argument. one goes to the Magisterium. And that is where we part ways - because I believe it is wrong. I know what you’re going to say to that, so save yourself the time and we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that. But there is one more thing. One that you are more wrong about than you can possibly imagine. Same sex couples CAN have the same sort of relationship as heterosexual couples do. Whether or not you believe it to be wrong, sinful, disordered, unnatural, or whatever else is fine, but it’s still there. To presume to know what other people can or cannot feel is completely ignorant and incorrect.
You can feel you love your homosexual partner all you want - that doesn’t justify committing homosexual acts, just as it doesn’t justify adultery, premarital sex, or any other sin.
I’ll believe that when a homosexual union produces life.Despite what you think of it, 2 men can love eachother and complement eachother emotionally in the same way as a man and a woman.
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, 141 tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” 142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. **They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. **
