The Catechism states that many find themselves with the orientation through no fault of their own. They don’t pretend to know what causes it. If you don’t know the cause of something, and it is not deliberately chosen, which it isn’t, you cannot claim that it is sinful and therefore against God. Homosexual relations are the abomination not the orientation.
True!!

in May of 1969, in the All Nations Barber Shop, a barber and another man shot each other to death over the true meaning of some lines in the Bible. ( San Jose News, May 5, 1969)The true meaning!!! As if ether of them knew! Why in the name of the God you ignorantly worship do you feel that YOUR interpretation is the one, only, true, correct, infallible, etc, etc, interpretation, when even bible scholars, Catholic ones, are still haggleing over translations and intents? Are you like the woman who refused to learn another language when she would have been served by it, declaring “God writ the Bible in English, so it’s good enough for me!?” Nonsense, Madam or Sir. Nonsense! Practice or believe what you will, but for God’s sake, don’t foist your ad hoc interpretations of one of the world’s holy books as the ultimate authority. What sway have paper and ink over the heart that we do not give it? WE had better exercise some responsibility in the matter, or suffer, as we do, from illicit consequence, yours included.
If you have accepted Jesus in your heart and you have the Holy Spirit living within you, He will guide you in His Truth. Also, the church’s teachings are guided by the Holy Spirit, and they have never said God created homosexuality. God created people who have been affected by sin in and outside the womb but He didn’t create homosexuality. He allows these things to happen, anomalies and such, but He didn’t create them. These occurred after the Fall, after sin entered the world.

How we know our interpretation is the one?? The magesterium. I am sure you’ve heard of it.

Dear Angel, God created all Creation and it’s consequences. Did you choose your gender? Did you know that there are at least 12 recognized gender orientations excluding the hermaphroditic ones, those being more prevalent than publicly known? Go do your research. No, go DO it. And there are more abominations done in the Name of God and the Holy Spirit than would fill sev eral Bible, magesteriums, CCC’s, Books of Mormon, Korans, and etc’s. I know there is a God, a Holy Spirit, and all that. But I am not going to put my trust in men’s, prejudiced, patristic men’s or women’s limited and faulty extrapolations. And stop blaming innocents for the crosses nature and you give them.

But the Catholic Church was founded by Christ himself teaches according to Christ himself. No other religion has that distinction.

Of course I have heard of the Magesterium! But this is about your few short years of opportunity on this planet. Where is the delving into the meaning of your own self equal to the need of a drowing man for air? How easy is it to be born into a magesterium traditon and be lazy? You are touting emotional attachment to a dogma, not a life lived in desire to know God. You only think you think. You do not yet know you know. Do not wait till you are dying. God is not offended by your sincer inquiry. Why do you think you have the opportunity here to grow?

I am not sure what you are trying to get at?? If it is trying to make leave the Catholic faith and follow some cult, I will not fall for it. I continue to grow every day. I am just nitpicky

God bless you, Detales.

If you weren’t a mind nummbed robot who let others think for you and actually thought for yourself answering this would be possible.

And who are you to judge??? I was politely stating that I don’t want to be exposed to this cult he is trying to sway me to and that I can answer him because I don’t know what all he believes.

That’s fine if you want to believe you were born homosexual, no one can change your mind, but please try to consider that others have changed and are changing through the power of God because they don’t wish to be that way. .
Every person I have ever met who claims to have been gay and cured by God admits to having same sex feelings in private. Many have to have sex with their opposite sex spouse in the dark, so they can fantasize that it’s a same sex partner. These people of course often have kids, to further prove their straight-ness.

I’m sure that’s a lovely environment to be raised in!

And of course we always have the very public examples of when famous ‘ex-gays’ get photographed in known gay bars, flirting.

Yes, that is unfortunate when some of us slip up sometimes as we, of course, are not perfect. I believe that was one person you were referring to as it was made public. It is a journey. When we fall, we pick ourselves up and move forward. I know for myself, I have vowed not to engage in that type of behavior any longer because I don’t want to go against God, not to mention how much it hurts me.

Hopefully that’s not too many people who do what you are referring to above but I’m sure it does happen with a few.

We still have same sex feelings once in awhile but that doesn’t mean we have to act on them. Just like the alcoholic or sex addict is tempted, we don’t give in, and the desire decreases each time we resist. Like anything, if you feed it, it grows.

When I’m tempted, I ask God to show me what I’m really needing and ask Him to fill that place, and then it decreases.

Everything you answered here is puppeting what you either read out of the Bible or heard from the Vatican, there is no original thought coming from you. Don’t feel bad you fit in with typical Amercians today. Either won’t or ca’nt thint for your self. God put the brain in the human design, I wish mankind would use it more.🤷

Some of us are guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

When did you decide? Were you told when you were eight that you were going to burn in hell? Were you forced into therapy and treatment for things you didn’t even understand? I didn’t even know what gay was, and they were screaming at me that I was going to burn in hell for it. Who tells an eight year old they’re going to burn? That’s child abuse as far as I am concerned.

The people you seem to admire, approve of this, approve of ‘preemptive’ strikes on homosexuality in a child’s youth. I wish I knew what a normal childhood was, I really do. I didn’t have one, mine was filled with despair, sorrow and suicide attempts over something I had never even though of, until people started throwing fire and brimstone at me.

You have spoken approvingly of NARTH, even after I have described them in detail, from my perspective. Their leader advocates child therapy, preemptive child therapy even.
I wasn’t aware of that before you told me. I was never involved with reparative therapy, didn’t really know what it was until recently. What I was involved with was a warm, loving, Bible based support group that didn’t have anything to do with reparative therapy.
