Amazing how Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga had said he wouldn’t deny pro-abortion politicians communion. But then when he was shown the letter by Cardinal Ratzinger in 2004 that said that they must be denied communion, he admitted he was wrong. I only wish that Bishops like Archbishop Henry Mansell would learn from this Cardinal’s example. You can’t compromise with evil.

On the issue of legalized abortion, truly refusing to compromise with evil is having the courage to use one’s papal or episcopal authority to excommunicate publicly and by name Catholic legislators who support the legalized killing of the unborn.

Catholic brothers and sisters, please don’t bet your life on the idea that such legislators will voluntarily refrain from receiving Holy Communion because of the above link, or on the idea that priests will spontaneously deny them the Blessed Sacrament.

Anything short of excommunication is an inadequate solution to this scandal.

Keep and spread the Faith.

Archbisop Mansell cannot wash his hands of this scandal of his involvement. It is still permitting the distribution of drugs that violate the teachings of the faith. Just with a nudge and a wink.
