I prayed and pray this is not an error. Regardless of the accuracy of this view, it is one that I share.

Thanks, it is at least a good indicator of the integrity of the site that we aren’t given the boot for giving voice to an unpleasant and ‘controversial’ subject.

You have been on this site for a while, it is a bit precarious to speak up some times, thanks again.

ya pray will be usefull i think.if we all christians will pray for muslims then maybe most of muslims will convert to christianity,if lord jesus want:) because christ is the only way.Oh holy lord jesus show them the true way.:amen:

I live among Muslims though my country is not Islamic…in here muslim women go to universites, drive cars, do not necessarily wear islamic outfit, they party , drink and what have you…if you go to places governed by Hizbullah, you get a different picture though…at this point, one can argue about religion v/s culture…macho culture is widespread in the Middle East…whether it is caused by Islam or not is another topic…what happens if all these muslim women lived in Hizbullah territory? am sure we’ll get another version of Iran in here but as long as Christians live here it’s not going to work specifically when muslims themselves choose to live among us and go to our schools instead of the other choice…

The last line is the key: as long as they have a choice. That is the proof that the system is flawed.

indeed…in here they have a choice…the country is not Islamic nor run by Islamic sharia…many do choose it and many refuse it…many live the faith and many do not…if the country is to be run by sharia, no choice will be given but to live according to sharia…that’s why i said it’ll be another Iran. I do not think there is too much choice in Iran.

Oh, you always have a choice. In Iran it is prison or death versus their form of Sharia. But, there is no compulsion.

I live among (insert faith group here) though my country is not (ditto) …in here (ditto2) women go to universites, drive cars, do not necessarily wear (etc…) outfit, they party , drink and what have you…if you go to places governed by (and again), you get a different picture though…at this point, one can argue about religion v/s culture (but the thread is about the religion)…macho culture is widespread in the Middle East (so what?)…whether it is caused by Islam or not is another topic…(is it, why?) what happens if all these (…) women lived in (…) territory? am sure we’ll get another version of Iran in here but as long as Christians live here it’s not going to work specifically when muslims themselves choose to live among us and go to our schools instead of the other choice…
‘The honor of women in Islam

Not ‘How is it going for people who profess to be Muslim in your AO’

What does the religion itself ‘say’?

I think that inJesus is pointing out that when given a choice, th women rebel against the Islamic codes set forth for them. It is only by force that it has its fullest effect.

Cafeteria Ka’abists? The faith is the question/subject.

Yes, thank you. Now, about the Islamic bit?

Obviously they are rebelling against somethign.😃 Sonething that has to be inforced with honor killings, stonings, and all the other things.

It is bad for women in Islam. There is no way around it. I read sura 53:19-20. I actually read all of 53. The issue that Allah had with it is that he was given DAUGHTERS not sons. I mean come on.

‘La Illaha Illa la (insert alleged prophet’s name here) er rasul illa.’ (‘There is no God but God and (…) is his prophet’ if memory serves, bit rusty to say the least.)

Is this not a universal and basic qualifier for being a Muslim?

What did this ‘prophet’ say/direct?

So that is at least one ‘nay’ then. Of course, this isn’t exactly a poll.

Well, from Sura 53
53:19] Compare this with the female idols Allaat and Al-`Uzzah.
[53:20] And Manaat, the third one.
[53:21] Do you have sons, while He has these as daughters?
[53:22] What a disgraceful distribution!
It is disgraceful to attribute daughters to Allah when someone else has sons. Why would Allah find women disgraceful?

They are not garanteed an equal inheritance to sons.

Women can be beaten per the Koran and Muhammed himself hit Aisha with a great deal of force at least once (per Aisha).

There are other things.

exactly. Here we should discuss culture v/s religion since it is not always the same. If we say look at women in Saudi Arabia, some reply tis is not Islam. If we say look at them in Iran, Afghanistan ecc, some say this is not Islam but culture. In my country, there is a choice of Islamic culture and non-Islamic. Women who choose Islamic teachings end up in territories that resemble Iran…women who choose otherwise live differently. Yes there are numbers of cafeteria muslim women…so is it Islam that makes Iran or SA as such or is it culture? if it is culture, then why women in different culture end up living the same?

No, I’m sorry. I believe that for whatever reason I am not up to the task of adequate expression, at least in this case. No one is obligated to listen, or to understand.

Thanks (bro/sis?)
