I can’t believe this person says we lie, and then lies to promote their nonexistent point!

I’ll bet space aliens told them all about us Catholics… well, I was waiting for them to say that, anyway. :whacky:

It would have been more believable.
“Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom of God”

I happen to agree with the video. But apparently I am a heretic who is going to hell and should be excommunicated because I don’t believe everything the church believes.

The guy in the video seems to be a Catholic himself but does not agree with the extreme view that apologists (many people here) agree with. This seems reasonable to me.

To pick nits, as I am wont to do: “who is going to hell” is too certain a statement, don’t you think? It’s kinda like watching a baseball game, seeing your favorite team get beaten to a point or two at the first or second inning, and then giving up and changing the channel, stating with certainty that “Ah, they’ll lose anway”. Who knows if some miracle won’t pull off at the final innings?

Jesus will judge you at your death. My brothers and sisters shouldn’t jump the gun (my apologies for any that have).

With that said, what part of the video do you agree with?

I’m just curious… Did the Judaizers think that they were “a cut above the rest”? Think about it…

What’s a Judaizer?
Makes me think of:
The name Judy
St Jude
Judas, the apostle who betrayed Christ

“You have to understand. There are tons and I mean TONS of people attacking the church. If they had to respond to each and every one of them, they’d be worn out.”

I think what bothers me is that efforts at clarification and accuracy in matters of history and perception are taken as “attacks” by the ignorantly pious. That indicates to me a further verification that Catholicism is fear based and far from the original Jesus teachings, which I am completely certain are misunderstood and misrepresented by the Church today. I am quite certain that even the Church as an institution is aware of this, but has too much at stake to admit it.

Well I have seen a lot of pre vatican II opinions on these forums. People still believing in limbo, believing that only Catholics can go to heaven, etc…

What’s to agree with. I saw nothing but a bunch of unsupportable soundbites, speculation and rhetoric, sound and fury, lacking substance - a one-sided debate from a biased source.

Judaizer’s were Jewish converts to Christianity who felt that the Mosaic Laws still applied to all Christians, including the Gentiles. You’ll see them stirring things up in Acts 15 as well as Galatians.

This adherence to Jewish customs would have meant that the Gentile Christians would need to be circumcised, since circumcision was mainly practiced by all Jewish men as well as Arab and Egyptian priests. In other words, most gentiles were “uncut” (for lack of a better term that is acceptable).

… Hence my signature.

Regarding “Judas” (or Jude or Judy), the Jews were the two tribes of Israel (as well as the priestly tribe of Levi) who stayed loyal to the Davidic Covenant - the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. Judah was the largest of the original 12 tribes (numbering in the 100,000’s) and Benjamin was the smallest (one time as small as 685 or so, after a little “dispute” with the other 11 tribes almost wiping them out - See the end of Judges). Anyway, the region that Judah and Benjamin became known as Judah, which is why they were call “Jews”.

This is why Judaizers were those who wanted the Jewish Laws to continue to be applied to all Christians.

Which is irrelevant. What does the Church teach?

If you judged Jesus by the same terms, He would have been discredited by that peanut gallery we call His Apostles.

Some of videos on youtube ya gotta take with a grain of salt. They’re amateurs, most of 'em. Why not make a video refuting his statements?

If the man doesn’t believe that anything learned orally is reliable, why did he make a video instead of writing a book?

I guess the medium really is the message…
