I really really love horror novels and was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations
I love these classics but I think that you, Mr. or Ms. OP are probably talking more the freak you out so much you can’t sleep kind of horror novels. I am actually interested in hearing some recommendations on it other than the classics.Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” are two classics that are amazing reads. Also “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is great and it’s actually a lot shorter.
Actually I really hated “Dracula”. I thought the vampire was actually really lame. SorryBram Stoker’s “Dracula” and Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” are two classics that are amazing reads. Also “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is great and it’s actually a lot shorter.
First Unseen - with a Catholic undertone.I really really love horror novels and was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations![]()
Tis cool. To each his/her own.Actually I really hated “Dracula”. I thought the vampire was actually really lame. Sorry
I second these!I thoroughly enjoy the Preston and Child series with FBI Agent Pendergast starting with Relic and then Reliquary. There are several others in this series and it is recommended that these two be read in order. Wouldn’t call them out and out horror novels although they can get pretty scary.
heavymetallover - What do you mean by horror novels? Are you talking werewolves, Count Dracula? Ghosts? Haunted houses? Gory and disgusting?
I recall my Auntie talking about a gory and disgusting horror novel she read in the 80’s called, “Off Season” by: Jack Ketchum

From the reviews and comments I’ve read online Chuck Palahniuk novel called, “Haunted” isn’t for those with a weak stomach

I’m not really picky. It just has to be scary.
If you’re wondering have I read any of the above books? No…Not yet anyways.

At New York’s JFK Airport, an arriving Boeing 777 taxiing along a runway suddenly stops dead. All the shades have been drawn, all communication channels have mysteriously gone quiet. Dr. Eph Goodweather, head of a CDC rapid-response team investigating biological threats, boards the darkened plane—–and what he finds makes his blood run cold.
A terrifying contagion has come to the unsuspecting city, an unstoppable plague that will spread like all-consuming wildfire—–lethal, merciless, hungry . . . vampiric. And in a pawnshop in Spanish Harlem, an aged Holocaust survivor knows that the war he has been dreading his entire life is finally here.
In one week, Manhattan will be gone. In one month, the country. In two months . . . the world.
