A Catholic layman has expressed outrage at the refusal of the Malaysian police to pursue action against two Muslim journalists who allegedly defiled the Communion host.cathnewsindia.com/2010/02/25/host-defilement-police-take-no-action/
Realistically, what civil crime did these two journalists commit? Obviously, they committed sacrilege of the highest order, but in terms of civil law, they received Holy Communion (thus, the Priest handed them the Host) so they did not steal anything. From a legal standpoint, what you do with something after it is given to you is your business. Correct me if I’m wrong.

If it were American and were one of the “state supported religions” (not Christian) it would be considered a hate crime.

Also they received it under false pretense.

Wow. How disgusting. How could anyone ever do such a thing to the most holy Eucharist if they did not believe that it were actually Jesus? That is what I want to know. Regardless, it is sickening that people would treat Jesus like this. It is sickening that people would treat anything sacred like this. What disgusts me as well is the fact that the police refuse to do anything! I guarantee you that if someone had taken a Quran and desecrated it or if someone had vandalized a Hindu temple that the outcry would be so great that the police would definitely do something if they didn’t already do it before the outcry which they probably would!

What is with this bias against Christianity??? Why is it that a person can’t get away with desecrating another religion’s sacred objects but they sure can get away with desecrating the sacred things of Christianity?! That just confuses me! Perhaps it is because Catholicism is the one true religion and people know this deep down in their hearts and so they feel it is right or ok to persecute Christians. 🤷

All I know is that crimes like this need to be stopped. That and when they do occur, they need to be punished! The police in India should be completely and totally ashamed of themselves for not taking action on this. They would have taken action had a Quran or Hindu temple been desecrated so why didn’t they take action when a Christian sacred thing was desecrated? Hopefully the federal government or whatever in India can do something about this. 😦

I say forgive and let go. let the Lord deal with it. it could be bring more violence againt Catholics if they insist on this case.
