EUCHARIST DESECRATED ON YouTube

October 7, 2008

Under the name fsmdude, a Canadian man, Dominique, has posted over 40 videos on YouTube desecrating the Eucharist. Catholic League president Bill Donohue responds as follows:

“On September 29, I wrote to YouTube CEO Chad Hurley asking him to take down these offensive videos. I left a phone message for him on October 3, but he refuses to respond. Accordingly, I have posted my own video on YouTube calling attention to this matter.

“It was a professor from the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, Paul Z. Myers, who started the war on the Eucharist this past summer by intentionally desecrating a consecrated Host. Because Myers committed this act off-campus, the University did nothing about it. The latest copycat, however, has violated YouTube’s own ‘Community Guidelines.’ YouTube makes it clear that it does not ‘permit hate speech,’ defined as ‘speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion….’ It also says it ‘is not a shock site.’ Now if desecrating what Catholics believe to be the Body and Blood of Christ does not constitute hate speech, as well as expression designed to shock, nothing does.

“In August, YouTube took down a video of a teenager who urinated on the Holocaust memorial in Rhodes, Greece. That was not only the right moral choice, it was consistent with its own strictures. Catholics deserve the same sensitivity, and that is why we are asking YouTube to take down these unconscionable videos. It is not only right morally, it is in compliance with its own guidelines.”

I found the church where FSMdude made the video of himself stealing a host.

youtube.com/watch?v=FHS60cyrbrE

I immediately called the Catholic League to inform them about it. The name of the Church is St. Felix (Église Saint-Félix de Cap-Rouge) and it is located in Quebec.

I was able to find the church through blowing up the video and found towards the end part of the announcement board of the church where it looked like it said Saint Felix. I started searching the parish directories in either Quebec or Toronto and then typed the French spelling of it into Google image where I found an exact match for the church in the video.

I pray to God that this will cause all the local churches in Quebec to be on the alert for this young man and that the local authorities will see this for the hate crime that it is.

Good work! 👍

I’d hope someone would call Canada and St. Felix’s and key them in.

I think the fellow’s just a nut who is getting fueled by the response he’s generated. Must not have much else that’s real going on in his life.

Pray for him.

AND COMPLAIN TO YOUTUBE!

Agreed. People who do things like this - wonder what their childhood was like or how much attention they didn’t get…

Bless you Paz.

By Thaddeus M. Baklinski October 17, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A series of 40 Host desecration videos originally pulled from YouTube after an outcry of protest from Catholics, then reposted the same day, have been “age-gated,” which means the videos are not available to the general…

More needs to be done.

Can we create a YouTube video of, say, someone urinating on an image of the founders of YouTube?

That might get some action!

Or perhaps putting pictures through a shredder?

This should not happen for any reason. Lets look at this from different perspectives shall we?

CEO of Google/Youtube: Why would these millionaries care about a video of their photo being urinated on? They will not be personally insulted but it will gather enough attention to be put down and thus make our own claim be less of a consern to them.

People supporting desecration: Now they will have a defensive platform to work off of. They’ll make examples of how unchristian we are to desecrate a photo of someone and you know what’ll happen? That same video will open a whole new world of hatred for Catholics and we can begin to see videos of people urinating on pictures of our Lord Jesus, or a crucifix, or the virgin mary and the saints. All this in their minds will be acceptable because we struck back with this weak attempt.

Normal people who see this: They will begin thinking that we’re just as low as the atheist doing this thing. In their mind they’ll say that for extremist atheist “Nothing is Sacred!”. For Catholics it’ll be “Nothing but our beliefs is Sacred!” now I know we are the truth and we must defend that but that’s not done by burning Korans, Torahs, or urinating on photo’s of Secular people.

In conclusion we cannot lower ourselves to the level of these people trying desperately to hurt us. We must defend the value of the Eurcharist and show by example the virtue of Christianity.

he has posted 8 more ED’d just today.
I flaged each one. I like the idea of contacting the sponsors about YT continueation of this.
I wonder what they would do if we did a boycott of not only YT, google but include the sponsors as well.
I have been posting prayers, I hope all of you can do the same, I keep praying for him and will not stop praying for the kid.

I also have been praying for him. Do you have a YouTube account? Can I ask the name of your channel? 😉 Mine’s in my siggy.

This Dominique kid, or “Dom” as he calls himself, really needs our prayers. I don’t know what it would take for this guy to stop what he’s doing. I refuse to click on any of the links that people post right here on CAF. Why bother posting those YouTube links to his videos? Don’t give those videos more “views.” And if you’re that curious, rate them ONE star and flag them.

I would agree that hitting them where there sponsors are might be the correct way to bring attention to it. Maybe send an e-mail to the company “informing” them of their advertisements possibly being incorrectly connected to hate tactics.

So far I have seen Bank of America and Excedrin(Novartis Consumer Health) as the two biggies.

Here is the site for Bank of America and a letter that I sent:

www2.bankofamerica.com/contact/?lob=news&contact_returnto=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ebankofamerica%2Ecom%2Fcontact%2F%3Fstatecheck%3DVA%26page%3D

“I am concerned that you(as a company) would ally yourself by providing a partnership with Youtube.com. For your information, Youtube is hosting a number of videos that show the desecration of the Eucharist, an important…if not the most important celebration a Catholic. As you may be aware, the Catholic church is one of the largest churches in the world and I am sure that many are patrons of your institution. Thank you for your time.”

You know you can buy ‘hosts’ at a lot of corner stores in Quebec. We used to eat them like chips. While the videos are meant to shock, I’d have serious doubts about the host being consecrated.

A quick update. I received this response shortly after sending the letter:

Hey it might be a bunch of mularkey and a normal response from Bank of America or it may not be but at least it garnered a response.

I have finally been able to get the contact information of some of the companies/entities that have large partnerships with Youtube. It took a while to sort through the various websites but is well worth it.

I have always felt since being made aware of the desecration videos that flagging the videos will do nothing to have them removed as Youtube is as negatively secular as they come.

That being said I am posting the contact information so that other Catholic’s at CAF who wish to write letters of protest to these entities that have partnerships with Youtube can do so.

I’ve been considering recently getting a large photograph of Eric Schmidt, who is CEO of YouTube, and “desecrating” Eric’s photo. . . by flame, by blender, flush toilet, etc.

Of course, the utmost would be a torching of Eric Schmidt in effigy. . . but that has too many wild associations. Best to stick with an 8 x 10 photo.

Any thoughts?

The videos would be posted on YouTube. It would be interesting to see how long the company would keep them up!
