yes. Sinful things are sinful. Some are mortal and some are venial. A wrongful, intentional killing is mortally sinful, or “gravely” so, if you prefer.it does say that sinful killing is gravely sinful.

But not all killings are wrongful, and the Catechism says so. That’s not a “loophole” it’s what the Catechism says, straight up. What it does NOT say is what you are trying to make it say.
Frankly, I doubt you and I disagree about this at all. The real dispute between me and you is that you want to excuse Democrats’ support of abortion, whereas I don’t; having left the party for that very reason.
