Could you suggest a prayer, or a saint(I love finding out about the Saints, and have found a few who really ‘speak’ to me) that I can use to do this? I know it sounds so basic and silly, but other than just talking to God, I’m unsure about specific prayers and which to use and when. A prayer and a saint to offer up my sufferings to God; I do like just talking, but it helps me concentrate when I have a specific format to use. It stops my mind from getting anxious/wandering(part of that due to being autistic)

More later…just to say that there are a number of localised Covid outbreaks across Scotland, and this is something which will affect all kinds of things, so I ‘ll have to wait - so, I think another email would be the next best step.

Here’s some prayers you can use:

For saints, you might look up Jacinta and Francisco Marto, the Fatima children. They both offered many small sufferings for reparation and to save sinners, and then each of them got terminal illnesses and offerred up their sufferings from those.

Another one is St Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, who offered up many things through her life and then the sufferings of her final illness when she died of TB.

Emails can be forgotten. A phone call is more direct, even if they tell you you will have to wait.

Good morning from Scotland,

A wee update: I sent an email to the priest, he replied quickly, said that yes, now was the good time to talk about it(Covid outbreaks here)and would I give him my number and address.

I did, he called me yesterday, and is coming to see me on Thursday afternoon. And he sounded lovely.

And now, I’ve got the butterflies in my tummy…I’m quite untidy, can only do so much(it doesn’t bother me, but I hope he doesn’t judge me for that. I don’t need help with it…it’s just how I am, now it’s just me and Data(cat)…I do what I can, when I can.

Thanks to all here for the support: will keep you posted.

Baptism is not temporary, rather it prepares ones soul to enter heaven.

“Baptism by Desire” occurs only in the unfortunate case that you should die before receiving your baptism. It allows those who earnestly seek God to enter despite not getting baptism by water.

Since you sincerely desire baptism, your soul is on track to eternal salvation. You should be at peace while you wait for your priest to find time.
