Old TV shows I want on DVD:
Alf
You Can’t Do That on TV
Head of the Class
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Voltron
Hogan Family
Duck Tales
Talespin
Clarissa Explains it All (Lizzie Mcguire ripped this off!)

I love watching Outer Limits and Twilight Zone. Sometimes SCI FI channel does marathons.

What about GGGGGOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDTTTTTTTIIIIIMMMEEEESSSSSS!

Keepin yo head above wa…

DYNOMITE!

My favorite as a kid was ULTRAMAN,and the science patrol. It was so funny because I remember seeing the Zipper of the costume. I wish the sci fi channel would rerun some of those episodes. I wonder, are they lost?
Excellent show and available on DVD uncut with English subtitles or dubbed.

A great old show is the 1970s Spider-Man TV series starring Nicholas Hammond.

Two to throw into the mix:

Romper Room (Do be a do bee, don’t be a don’t bee)…there is a site where you can watch clips from the early (50’s and 60’s (which is back when I watched it))

I’ve had many strange looks when I ask people about this, but, thanks to the internet, I know I’m not delusional (or suffering from Alzheimers just yet)…so, anyone out there remember Kimba the White Lion?

“Kimba The White Lion is a wonderful, captivating series. When first shown in America, it was praised universally for its stories of love, compassion, and strength of character.”

I remember the name. Some people think that elements of the series were ripped off by The Lion King.

Mine are all more well known ones but they are still great!

Fantasy Island
I Dream of Jeannie
Hogan’s Heroes
Mary Tyler Moore Show

On an old tv channel that we get now that all the tv has gone HD, there is a show called Father Knows Best. It is really nice because basically it is just everyone learning a nice life lesson but we learn it through the children and the parents of this tv show!!

“Blake’s 7” sounds right up my alley. (I had heard of it but only in the vaguest way. For some reason they must not have shown it on my local PBS station as they did “Dr. Who”, etc.)

Thanks for that link, Edwin! Alas, one of my favorite shows, “Leave It to Beaver”, is not out on DVD (or video, for that matter), and I don’t know if it’s scheduled to be.
I spent many, many hours watching Leave it to Beaver. Although I am no longer patient enough to watch television (:o), the show is available on DVD. You can order it through Amazon or if you prefer order directly from the publisher

At this point it seems the only way to get the first two seasons is to order the complete six-year set. However, perhaps that will change in the future.

BTW, the publisher offers DVDs of many classic (and some not-so-classic) US television series.

I ordered the entire series of “Leave It To Beaver” DVDs as soon as the set became available – I’m watching one right now!

I also have the whole series of “Are You Being Served”. I’d also like to get “I Love Lucy”, and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”.

Does anyone remember these?

Life of Riley (Jackie Gleason)
Yes! Growing up in the NYC area during the 70’s and 80’s WPIX used to run a lot of old shows like the Honeymooners, Abbot & Costello, Three Stooges, Burns & Allen, Jack Benny and Life of Riley. I of course knew Jackie Gleason from the Honeymooners, but when I saw him as Riley my eyes nearly popped out of my head. He was so relatively skinny back then 😃

OH MY! I remember this show. Loved it even if it was cheesy.

Are you sure that was Jackie Gleason? William Bendix played Riley back when I was watching the show.

We have a TV station here in the Chicago area which shows a lot of the old programs. They’ve stood the test of time. I don’t mind watching them instead of the junk on regular TV now.

Im a child of the 80’s so my favorite older show is the Cosby Show. The funniest show ever!! I was also a huge fan of the Thundercats! 😃

.
Yep. Gleason paled Riley in1949-50. Wm. Bendix plaed Riley for 53-58. Bendix of course being better known for the part.
