It is a modernized King James Version, with all of the minuses and controversies associated with it (just Google “KJV translation errors” and see what happens). It is a Protestant bible and very likely has footnotes which are disputed in the divided Protestant world - they could also be heretical to a Catholic. It is still useful to demonstrate Catholic doctrine to a Protestant, as can be done with the original KJV. To read and study, I would rely on the Ignatius RSV-2CE.

I wouldn’t even consider it. If you like a KJV type Bible for Catholics. I recommend the Douay-Rheims. It is basically the only Bible I can recommend any Catholic. Although if the Ronald Knox does ended up being printed by Baronius Press I would recommend beginners with the Ronald Knox.
