How and how many kinds of relationship are there to the Holy Spirit?
I like your answer because it doesn’t single out one part of the Trinity. They are one. TimMy relationship to Our God in his Person of the Holy Spirit is probably the most meaningful in this, my earthly life. I am created by God the Father, I am saved by God the Son, but God’s manisfestation as Spirit, as Paraclete, sustains me, inspires me, guides me, enlightens me, comforts me.
Daily, in good times and in bad, I cling to the Spirit.
(Wow. Not sure where those words came from. Guess I didn’t realize how much the words of the prayer “Oh, Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore thee,” have resonated with me . . . Thank you for asking the question . . .)
Do you want to love God? and do you want God to guide you?Are you all saying that as a part of my life as I could love a woman, I could also fall in love with the Holy Spirit and that there is a definit need to have this relationship? If so then why?
1811 It is not easy for man, wounded by sin, to maintain moral balance. Christ’s gift of salvation offers us the grace necessary to persevere in the pursuit of the virtues. Everyone should always ask for this grace of light and strength, frequent the sacraments, cooperate with the Holy Spirit, and follow his calls to love what is good and shun evil.
1813 The theological virtues are the foundation of Christian moral activity; they animate it and give it its special character. They inform and give life to all the moral virtues. They are infused by God into the souls of the faithful to make them capable of acting as his children and of meriting eternal life. They are the pledge of the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in the faculties of the human being. There are three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity.
1817 Hope is the theological virtue by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ’s promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit. "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful."84 "The Holy Spirit . . . he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life.
1830 The moral life of Christians is sustained by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These are permanent dispositions which make man docile in following the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
1831 **The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit **are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. They belong in their fullness to Christ, Son of David.109 They complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them. They make the faithful docile in readily obeying divine inspirations.
1832 The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that theHoly Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. The tradition of the Church lists twelve of them: “charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity.”
Thank you water I have taken note of the web page. Some people relate to Jesus as their “complete lover” (not in a humanistic sence) but in all that they have and need. How can a person gain that love faith communication hope strength and relationship?Do you want to love God? and do you want God to guide you?
See what you can do with the guidiance of the Holy Spirit:

You’re welcome. I’ve recently pray more the novena to the Holy Spirit for faith, hope, love, and other virtues.Thank you water I have taken note of the web page. So I guess it would be like having a car but trying to move without the gas, this makes sense, or me saying I love Jesus but don’t even know the Holy Spirit as all. So I could read all that i want about but still not know the person, but… if I let go and ask the Holy Spirit in then I would probably have the first thoughts and actions in building a relationship with the Holy Spirit… NO???You’re welcome. They can’t have Jesus as a “complete” lover without the Holy Spirit.

To believe in the Holy Spirit
152 One cannot believe in Jesus Christ without sharing in his Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who reveals to men who Jesus is. For "no one can say “Jesus is Lord”, except by the Holy Spirit",22 who "searches everything, even the depths of God. . No one comprehends the thoughts of God, except the Spirit of God."23 Only God knows God completely: we believe in the Holy Spirit because he is God.
The Church never ceases to proclaim her faith in one only God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
yes and no. The Holy Spirit works many different ways with all of us.So I could read all that i want about but still not know the person, but… if I let go and ask the Holy Spirit in then I would probably have the first thoughts and actions in building a relationship with the Holy Spirit… NO???
Sound’s like it to me!
In the future, I’ll get married to my g/f thus this makes me related to her relatives, but I doubt I would know much about them unless I am opening up to get to know them and vice versa. So to have a relationship with one is to have a relationship with all 3 in 1 Lord. Am I “off” in this thinking?
Yo are one of the new posters and I am one of those blessed by your writingYears ago I was having a problem with my faith. When I talked to a priest about it, he suggested that I pray to the Holy Spirit.
I was a little taken aback by this - I asked him how??? - he told me I should just “introduce myself”, and continue from there.
Since then I have found a tremendous relationship with the Holy Spirit. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
Of course, we can not pray to one person of the Trinity without the involvement of the other two. Acknowledging the Holy Spirit in prayer, and giving permission to work in your life opens things up in a way that you cannot imagine. In the same way that praying to the Father is different from praying to Jesus, praying to the Holy Spirit is unique.
I strongly encourage you to try it, if you haven’t already.
Blessings in Christ,
Ancilla
