I have stated to some folks, now would be a good time to learn a new skill. If you can’t leave your house, why not learn Mandarin? Actually right now might be a great time to learn it. Please note, it doesn’t have to be learning Mandarin. I’ve been writing a little bit of a diary, with my thoughts on what’s going on and how I’m feeling about it. And much like my actual personality, it goes from one extreme to another in a matter of minutes. I am a naturally anxious person, so y’all will have to take that into consideration. I’m curious what y’all are doing to get through this.

I have been spending more time in the kitchen trying new recipes, or old ones that are more “fancy.”

It was also really nice outside earlier today, so I raked out my flower beds.

That’s actually a really interesting thing. I’m not panicking about food, because I can cook well if I need to, because out of necessity, if I have flour and I have oil, and I have water I can make something, although sometimes eggs are useful in that situation, too. Unfortunately, the blackberries and dewberries have not come in yet, so I can’t go pick them.

I am sort of seeing what I can use from what I already have in the house so I don’t have to go out. I keep a pretty good stock of staples on hand and can always make soup, or some kind of bean dishes, or pasta with any number of sauces.

I’m very good at foraging. So I kind of know what fruits and vegetables grow around me, so if I have to go and search for them I can find them. Although, I miss having a laying hen.

learning how to build churches in Minecraft on a server with friends

oh and online classes that don’t feel like online classes

and getting back into biking bc i love the freedom and seeing God’s beauty through nature 🙂

I’m planning on growing a vegetable garden.
The local store was out of seedling pots but seed starting soil was available so I bought some. I am saving empty egg shells to start some tomatoes and peppers. Egg shells are good seed starting pots because they are free and 100% biodegradable.
Soon I will plant pea seeds in the ground.
…dreaming and planning growth, life and harvest.

I’ve decided to begin learning and praying in latin, reading more Church Fathers and philosophy/theologians to meditate on God, and to calm my own worries about the thing have remembered the Scriptures about God causing calamity, and His loving predestination of all things. I try to see the great goods in all this, like how appreciation of the Mass can result from the suspensions, how some are shown to be lovers of God by the charity and sacrifice they are driven to in crisis, how others fall and show that their God is their own power or violence. How God can make all of us meditate on death, which in Sirach is said to keep one from sin. How the world is made more manifestly fallen, and that’s something to pray about. It calms me to know there are many good things God is working in the lives of people, showing them His personal loving mercy especially through others in the middle of all this chaos.

I’m getting back into journaling, a habit I keep saying to myself I will make daily (hasn’t ever been daily and I’ve tried for years). Might watch some classic movies that I haven’t seen before too with my mom. Not sure what else. Maybe I should read some poetry, I don’t think I do it nearly enough.

There’s honestly very little difference in my life from a typical day.
I’m not very social and I work from home a lot.

Yeah a lot of my friends are posting that.
I think I tend to befriend a lot of people who have a similar lifestyle to mine. We are friends mostly online and see each other a couple times a year, if that.
It doesn’t make us any less friends, the only difference is we don’t provide practical support for each other like rides, grocery runs, etc. because we live in different states or even different countries.

share corona memes have a few beers.
What if my pale ale catches the corona virus?

Will it become thing and runny, and taste bad?

🤔 😝

I’ll be planting things, fixing this dryer, and fixing cars.

And planning an ad campaign for when we’re freed: somehow, I think I’ll be spending a time quite busy as a bankruptcy lawyer . . .

And I’m spending a bit more time on restoring my Spanish.

The worst of the coronavirus will end on good Friday I think. If we catholics all ask jesus christ to pour his most precious holy blood over the virus and drive it back to hell.

That’s it! People should should ask if you live an introvert, extrovert or self quarantine lifestyle. 😂

Thank you for sharing your plans. It illustrates how there are so many ways there are to use the time we wait this out positive/ productive time.

I live alone. This week I went out 3 times in search of 1 dozen eggs. Today I found a store that had 8-9 dozen left in the entire egg case. I just took one.

Yesterday, I stopped at the adoration chapel before I went to the grocery store.
I stayed about 25 minutes. It was very calming.

I am watching Mass daily online.

The weather here in the desert is beautiful this time of year. The fresh air feels so good when I go out. We had rain Wednesday, so I stayed in. I can’t sit here all day long and watch the news coverage on tv about the coronavirus. Usually I am out
under 2 hours.

I am trying not to be fearful and anxious.

Trying to make plans for the rest of the year.

I like to read, so I have been reading some e-books that I have taken out from the library.

Our libraries are closed but we can still access the e-books from the library’s on-line collection.

I have also been watching on-line movies and TV shows.

I have also been trying to catch up with reading other on-line articles from different websites.

I like to color, so I have been doing some coloring in the adult coloring books that I have.

I have also been trying to do more heavy-duty cleaning too, and have been trying to get more caught-up with that–things like cleaning out cabinets, closets, etc.

I’m supposed to stay indoors at home as much as I can, to avoid possible exposure to the Corona Virus since I am at high-risk for it.

I’m at high risk, just by virtue of being me. I love to read, but oddly I don’t like staying indoors. I love being outside, but with the high pollen count, that might be just a good idea for me anyway, since every time I cough, I think I’m going to die.
