How big a family did you come from?

I"m the youngest of 2, both my brother and I were adopted as infants. My husband is the 8th of 9! I love having all that extended family.

I am 5th of 6 … 4 boys. 2 girls. My mom also had a miscarraige so that is really 7. A priest also encouraged her continue on ABC in the 60’s “for sanity” so there was a 10 year gap between #4 and me.

I voted for my wife instead of myself as she came from a Catholic family (my family was mixed Protestant).

She’s one of twelve, her mother was one of thirteen. Those thirteen children begat 80 children, and those 80 begat 200+ so far. At the time of her death several years ago, the maternal grandmother had nearly 200 *living * descendents..

I’d be careful about buying in too much to the whole birth order psychology thing. As with any secular theory, some of it is sometimes true. Often most of it is not. For example, my mother is an only child and indeed has nearly all the “only child” characteristics; yet I am the baby in my family, but display nearly all of the characteristics of a first born, while my first born sibling displays some first born and some youngest characteristics. It’s entertaining, but certainly not Truth (capital T)

I posted that I am youngest of 3 and hubby is youngest of 11 and we have 4 children but I’m going to add that my mom is second oldest of 11 and my dad is oldest of 5. My husbands mom is youngest of 2 but she had 11 herself, that is so cool I think, her folks just never had more, not that they didn’t want more it just never happened. I’m not sure how many were in my husbands dads family as his dad left when my hubby was a little boy, hubby thinks his dad had 3 brothers but not sure.

My Dad came from a family of 7 and my mother came from a family of 4 kids. My parents grew up on a farm and so did we. Right now I have 6 of my own children. My mom is 4th in a family of 12, and my dad is 12th in a family of 16!! So I am VERY blessed with tons and tons of cousins, aunts, and uncles!
I hope to have (if it’s God’s will) at the very least 5 kids (my ideal would be a family like the one in Cheaper by the Dozen (the book, not the movie))!

It’s just me and my older brother. When my mom remarried, I thougth they were gonna have more children but my father couldn’t. So I became the baby!!! I was so spoiled, ***was ***because my beautiful niece was born 4 months ago!

Now she’s the spoiled one!
