How can I find an SSPX/FSSP priest?

Actualy, there were TWO such documents this year, one, if not both, from His Holiness himself.

I guess I’m “Triple Poppycock.” I didn’t think that a Bishop or a Pope would ask an FSSP priest to say an NO Mass. And I thought the only kind of Mass the FSSP knew how to say was the Tridentine Mass unless he had a priest friend outside of the FSSP teach him how to do the NO.

On the other hand, it was our FSSP who told the Confirmation class that you get extra graces. He told us about a monk who spent all his time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. This monk was told to help out with the work that needed to be done. The priest said the monk received more graces by obeying than by spending all of his waking hours before the Blessed Sacrament. Maybe there’s an FSSP out there who was asked to do an NO Mass and received extra graces for obeying his Bishop by doing that-if he knows how to do an NO Mass.👍

If you would like to get a good understanding of traditional liturgy and spirituality, get a book called The Latin Mass Explained. The author is Msgr. George Moorman. It’s not difficult but is excellent! It was recommended to me by an FSSP (Fraternity of St. Peter) priest. I wish I had read this before my first Latin Mass - that and the Fr. LaSance missal I now own. These two resources are a big help. They available from several sources on the internet.

I’m sure if you contact the FSSP or ICK they’ll gladly help find a priest, if possible, or answer your questions themselves.

I am sure The Society of St. Pius X would welcome any serious inquiry. The website below gives telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and websites for many locations around the world. In addition to Lithuania and Poland, there are headquarters in all of western Europe except Scandinavia. But you are fluent in English. Get hold of Ireland or England if you are from up north.

As regards FSSP clergy, then in you are determined to follow your schismatic route (because that’s what it is!) then again, search the internet! There is a great long list of pseudo-Roman-Catholic churches out there just waiting to lead you down the rosy path to schism.

FSSP is in full communion with Rome, SSPX is not

Perhaps ask the priest at Sensus Traditionis below or email through the main F.S.S.P. web page or their seminary web page asking to talk to someone. No doubt they’re all very busy but if you’re polite and firm and pray about it you’ll in time get through to someone and be able to talk about it. 🙂

I’d buy the F.S.S.P. DVD too.
 
Isn’t it sad? I’ve read the entire thread - noting OP’s original question.
Isn’t it sad how the replies resulted in near-attacks on SSPX or FSSP?
I can’t speak authoritatively - aside from what I’ve read / learned through the years of changes and discourse. I do know the FSSP is marvelously reverent and traditional. And, to my knowledge, their beginnings were from the desire not to be separated from Holy Mother the Church by excommunication or schism. (I don’t ever recall hearing cable TV mentioned.)

It’s just so sad that - while God appointed Peter the “rock” on which He would build His Church - sometimes these discussions burst into a precarious ledge of loose stones during decades of questions and debate. It hurts - from within me. How sad. I don’t claim to have the answers. God help us all to discern what is right. This truly is a time of tribulation.
God help OP find the direction God wants for him.

Yes, it is sad that these forums turn into a real “bloodbath” on occassion. Just like a chicken with a bloodspot on its head. As soon as the flock sees it, man, they’re on you.

And ever notice how ultra-sensitive some are?
 
The Latin Mass isn’t magic and no cultural Catholicism can or will inoculate us from the influence of the world, the flesh or the devil. Pray for priests, all priests. Luther was a ranting priest, and an anti-semitic priest, and he needed the support of the laity–prayer, fasting, almsgiving–as do priests today. The Fraternal Society of Saint Peter is a refreshing change from the Luther-esque, anti-semitic, divisive, ranting clergy of the Society of Saint Pius X. All priests, even obnoxious ones, need our spiritual help using the big three spiritual weapons of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In this Year of the Priest, may our High Priest grant true piety to all, and unity of will and purpose, that all His priests may be powerful shepherds who delight in meekly serving Him in His flock.
 
You never said where you live in Europe, but in case you don’t know, the seminary for the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, who use the Latin Mass, is near Florence, Italy and they speak French at the Seminary.
