Hello everyone,
A friend of mine is going to attend an event with some friends as a character (a genre called LARP. Look it up
), and has run into an issue. His character is a monk who travels from place to place helping those in need and performing acts of charity; on his person (his character’s), he carries a copy of the New Testament, which he inherited from his mentor. He uses this Bible to read, during meditation and at public gatherings. Unfortunately, the curators of the event he is going to have a tendency to be very strict, and he is unsure if they will approve a Bible in “new” condition, as it is not genre-appropriate. He does not have access to a naturally-worn/ragged Bible, but an old-looking Bible may be his only option. Is there any way he can take the Bible he has (which he purchased from the dollar store) and make it appear withered, without committing sacrilege?
I’d like to add that my friend has told me that he chose this kind of character in order to spread the messages of Christ through this game. I was happy to hear he did so.
Any thoughts? Advice?
