Jesus may have called for unity. He didn’t say everybody had to think the same way about everything. The attempt to insist that they must causes splits; it doesn’t heal them.
Jesus didn’t just call for unity - like the United States are in unity - Jesus called for us all to be in one as He and the Father are One.
ONE.
St Paul - reinforced this idea in the passages I noted in my OP. To be of “ONE MIND”.
If you have not already read through the various posts in this thread I would ask you to do so before commenting further. It is important to understand that we are talking about being of “One Mind”. If we ARE of “One Mind” then we DO think the same way about everything relating to faith and morals. That is what being of "One Mind, and “One as Jesus and the Father are One”, means. It can mean nothing else and retain the “Oneness” prayed and implored for.
In converstion I had with Tanner9188 I tried to break down what the term “One mind” would intail. I asked him in post number 36:
…
Forget Scripture, forget interaction with other people or other faiths etc.
I Am Talking About what it means to be of ONE MIND.
HOW DOES ONE MIND THINK?
Does your mind think it is OK to Speed AND it is wrong to Speed?
Does your mind think it is OK to Steal AND it is wrong to Steal?
Does your “One Mind” permit different and opposing Doctrinal Beliefs?
So I will ask you this same question as I asked Tanner9188. Dose your “One Mind” permit opposing doctrinal beliefs?
Peace
James
