How clean is YOUR house?

Normally, my house is clean, but I bit cluttered. However, after Christmas, I got the urge to clean out closets, shelves, cupboards, etc. and REALLY get rid of stuff that I don’t need. So the clutter is a bit more what with waiting for the garbage to come once a week and having very few places to put it while waiting.

I go through periods of obsessive cleaning, where I can’t even sit down if I see a mess. But then I’ll go through a period where it seems I have much more important things to do. Thank goodness those periods don’t last too long!! 😉

God bless.

Trish

I normally have a really clean abode, but since we are living in an apt. while we are building our home, it is difficult at best, to keep a neat apt. Haven’t lived in an apt. for many years so had to learn all over, but soon we will be moved and I can clean , clean, clean day and night if I like and I won’t have time limits on how late I can use the vacuum. WOW!! This is a huge undertaking for us “oldies”, but we are having fun doing it.

Love and peace,
mom of 5

I just spent the last three days giving the house a good cleaning. We have three levels and did a level a day. I usually keep a clean house, but since I have MS it takes me a little longer than it used to! I also got two new kittens for Christmas and they are making there own type of mess. 😃

Peace,
MSGirl ❤️

Well, if someone knocked on my door there’s not a snowflake’s chance in heck of me actually letting them in, that’s how messy it is. 'Nuff said.

I was told in school that a messy desk is a sign of a great mind, and I stick by it!

Messy. tons of dishes in the sink, crumbs on the floor, unfolded laundry, hampers full of clothes. Make anyone feel better?
lol, ya I do mommy;) I have to admit though, I was so busy this Christmas that I broke down and hired a cleaning service :o :o I was stressed and knew I was going to making Christmas dinner this year for extended family, so I went for it. So now my house is fairly clean but a bit too cluttered again. I’m working on that today. I also admit, in haste I threw things in boxes “just for now” to clear things out for the carpet cleaners. So my house looks much better but that is deceptive.

On that note…here I go to throw another load in. 😉

:rotfl:

you need to get boxes like me and shove things in 👍 I think I have over ten “just for now” boxes in my garage. I just hope one of kids are not in one 😉

Uh, I am a single man. I live with my 21 year old son who is in culinary school.

Aside from the dirty dishes that collect in the sink for a day or two (my son is in culinary school) and the fact that neither one of us makes our bed each day, the house is always clean. In fact, I usually try to keep my house “nun ready”. That is clean enough that I would even invite a nun in.

Having said that, I must be quick to point out that neither I nor my son can take any credit for. I have a cleaning lady (who is great! 👍) who comes every two weeks. Still I fold my laundry, iron my own shirts and generally keep the place picked up. The cleaning lady helps keep me from getting too far behind. I will confess that I am sometimes slow going through the mail.

I second that!!! they say people who are messy are THINKERS… so I have to be one of the greatest THINKERS of all time!!!😃 😃

I am soooooooo “monkish”.
I cannot stand mess , dirt, clutter, etc.
Monkish  That would mean be inclined to self-denial or befitting a monk…not indulgent.

Monks can certainly be on the dirty side…even without much opportunity for clutter they can have clutter filled lives.😉
How clean is YOUR house?
hmmmm…I guess that depends on who is doing the inspecting.

oh i think monkish means the show that is going on about a detective who is OCD…

A clean house is a sign of a sick mind. 😃 😉

'thann (whose house is definitely not clean!)
Yay! I’m sane! I’m sane!

I’m a full-time student with three small, furry mammals and a husband who has selective blindness when it comes to mess, and a penchant for starting home improvement projects and then setting them aside for months. I’m sure you can imagine how chaotic my house is.

Yes, I WAS referring to the show Monk. (thank you Mariam1976!)

I may not be as ethereal minded as you, contemplative, but there is nothing wrong with the show Monk.

Oh!? Maybe I’ll take the some time and watch it one of these days.

I love it when the house has the smell of cleaning products wafting through it…sigh.

We’re changing over to ammonia, white vinegar and baking soda. I still have my bleach, at least…

I am blessed to be married to a man who sees very little dirt. I knew I’d made the right decision shortly after our marriage, when he dusted by running the hand vac over his desk, without so much as moving a book or knick-knack. He cleans our cats’ boxes, and for that alone, he deserves sainthood.

I have not cleaned his office in two years. I had tons of stuff that was overcrowding our small house. I got busy preNew Years, and kept going: Removed to outside and tagged garbage, drove loads to St. Vincent thrift store, washed windows from the inside, cleaned cat fur off things, and even got the taxes for 2006 done.

And now, the livingroom looks like a minefield. Back to square one…

I’m retired, so I have time to help with the housework. My wife does, guess what, cleans other peoples’ houses. So I figure she shouldn’t have to clean ours too. We have two housedogs and a cat, and a muddy yard where they go out (lack of winter weather so far) so it keeps me busy. It stays fairly clean, but I don’t run the sweeper over once a day. That’s too much!

You are a keeper for sure!

Don’t even ask. I am married with three children, two of them disabled. I live in a slum(that’s what I call my house), but dream of Mister Propper cleanliness.
It’s so hard to catchup with everything, but I always do my best. My husband helps too, but the ork never ends.
Any ideas how to streamline the process of cleaning?
God Bless!
Maria Rose
