How clean is YOUR house?

My house is very entertaining…

Everyday I get to watch a dust bunny rodeo!

Our house was built in 1890, and the total amount of closet space we have here does not equal the size of the pantry in the kitchen of the last house we had in the suburbs. So, not only is it not clean, but it’s near impossible to clean because of the clutter. I dreaded Christmas because I knew we were just going to get more “stuff” for which I have no room!

The main areas of the house are clean. The bedrooms… well that’s what doors are for. 😉

Gotta go with Deb. We have a half-dozen kids, three dogs and four cats…

I have a one week old baby.

Need I say more???

Except to add the toddler, and the 10 year old, and the cats, and the husband…

😛

I’m struggling with being a newlywed and getting used to having a man in my space who thinks the bathroom fairy comes to put the bathmat up and close the shower curtains, and clean the potty. And he’s so happy that we also have a kitchen fairy who does all the dishes and mops the floor!

So - my house is a clutter mess every day now and it makes me crazy!!! We can tend to have a very busy schedule, and even though I do work at home a few days a week, I just never seem to stay on top of everything.

It has gotten so bad that it has actually kept me up at night. And who ever said it was right, by some people’s standards it probably isn’t even that bad, but after living alone for many years, I just like a clean and tidy house.

Oh how I wish those kitchen and bathroom faeries would visit while I’m sleeping!!

I hear ya…it doesn’t get any better with a 3 month old baby either. :o

What a coincidence! My college-age son thinks the same thing! 🙂

I am soooooooo “monkish”.
I cannot stand mess , dirt, clutter, etc.
Hehe…you’re the first person outside my husband and myself who I’ve heard use that phrase. DH likes to say I’m “more monkish than most.” 😃 So, yes, my house is pretty clean. Occasionally the crumbs gather in the corners, but it literally gives me pain to see it thus.

How funny, we use this phrase in our house as well. I thought we were the only ones 🙂

Your mean you DON’T have a house elf to do all of your work???!!!

I just had a conversation with someone else this morning about dirty houses. I was complaining that I don’t have enough time to work and get my house cleaned, take care of kids, etc.

She reminded me that in 5 years it won’t matter if my house is clean right now or not. I guess she’s right. Focus on the really important issues and don’t worry about the cobwebs in the corner.
