And here I thought I was done with this topic. Actually, what I challenged you to do was to provide any citation at all on what the church teaches about material souls as distinct from spiritual souls. This you refused to do in a response more like third grade than tertiary level education.

Yes it has, which does not mean that all estimates are therefore equally valid. It only means that one cannot say “The church teaches the soul is immediately created at conception.” It assuredly does not mean this isn’t the most reasonable conclusion based on what the church has said.

Yet the Church staunchly declines to confirm that view and the mainstream traditional view was in fact that conception was no more a “creative action of God” than that of an animal’s conception.

At one time the “mainstream traditional view” of the universe was that the sun and stars circled the Earth. I don’t think the view that human conception is no more a creative action of God than that of animals is any more reasonable today than is the early “mainstream traditional” view of the universe.

Ender someone needs to tell you that you are obsessing, caught up in trivialities and now making mountains out of mole hills. In the meantime most of us advanced on to the main chance, fleshed it out and now moved on. Perhaps you should too.

I have already suggested that traditional “soul talk” may be just as obsolete as Geocentrism - both are derived from secular philosophy.

Well you just described fairly accurately what the system of delayed hominisation is about - accepted as mainstream by the Church for 700 years.

As I have pointed out BlackFriar, this is at least partially irrelevant.

Why?

Because science did not know or reveal the embryology we have now.
