After all these beautiful stories I am finally coming out with mine.
After a church prayer gathering, my husband’s parents and my parents initiated and arrange a blind date for us. I was very hesitant and unhappy at the time but of course I am now glad they did.

We met in the High School Marching Band. He was a junior and i was a freshman and he made it his goal to torment me all through summer band camp. come to find out we had mutual friends. So he teased me all through high school and then i moved away with my family for my dads job. i was working at the mall one day and i saw him. he came into the store and we started talking and exchanged phone numbers and email addresses. Turns out he had family where i moved and was down for a family wedding. we hadnt spoken in nearly two years at that point. so we started emailing back and forth and i invited him to a new years eve party two and a half years ago. he kissed me at midnight. we were engaged a year later. married a year after that and have been married nearly six months now. (june 11). my mother told him on our wedding day that he tormented me for two years and now i have the rest of our lives to get him back. aint love grand!

🙂 HA! In the grocery store, believe it or not. Love at first sight~~ Yes~~ I do believe in it~~

We met in high school and have been together ever since. Married 20 years next mo! Where does the time go???😉

My hubby and I actually met in eighth grade. I thought he was gross!!! We became best friends in high school and were so close that we said “I love you” to each other as friends all the time. When we left for seperate colleges, we realized we were in love, so we started dating. Not the most ideal circumstances for a new relationship, but we made it work and I think God knew what we needed more than we did. Now, we treausure our time together so very much!

I voted “work” - he auditioned to play keyboards in my band. He got the gig 🙂

We met in College. We were both music majors and therefore had to be in Marching Band. We had to bee there a week early for band camp. I remeber thinking he was an arrogant jerk. I went back to my dorm that first day and called my best friend who would also be my roomate for the year and told her about him. She knew him (she was a year ahead of me) from mutual friends. I thought he was an arrogant jerk becuase of the way he was behaving. You could tell he didn’t want to be there. And he would go on about how hard this piece looked, adn then was able to play it almost perfectly by sight. So on the second day of band camp we struck up a conversation. He clamied to be 25 and just out of the Army. I didn’t beilve him for a second. He did not look 25. I demanded proof. He laughed and pulled out his drivers licence and military ID. I was a little embaressed. It turns out he was in the Army band and is a very talented musician. I had made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to get involved with anyone and I was going to concentrate on my studies. And seeing as this guy was 7 years older than me, I figured I didn’t have a shot anyway. At the end of the week we went to a party at his house (he shared with like 5 other guys in marching band). He got the duty of walking back a bunch of us girls to our dorms. He and I had been talking at that point but i still thought he was only being friendly. He dropped me off last. He tried to ask me out on a date, but I made excuses. He tried to kiss me and I said no and walked away. He told me later that he knew he liked me, but at that point he knew it was more than that. He and I were friends for a the next few weeks. On weekend he dissapeared. I had no clue where he was. I was worried and then I realised that I really had feelings for him. That weekend I sprained my ankle. He came back on that Sunday night. He had gone home because two frineds of his from high school who had gotten married just had another child. When he stopped by and realized that I had hurt myself he demanded that he be allowed to take me to the ER. When I got back my roomate said “I think you are going to marry him, and your mom does too.” I thought she was crazy. That Friday he showed up and told my roomate and I to get dressed becuase we were going out. He took us to a friend of his new resteraunt. When we got home my roomate said “ok, you better marry this guy.” Mind you we hadn’t even really started to date yet. Not long after that, we did have our first official date. A year later we got married. He has treated me like a queen ever since. That was almost 8 years ago.

Playing Trivial Pursuit at a friend’s house. Her boyfriend (now her husband and they have 2 kids) came over with DH. 16 years now since that August evening.

I was in from out of town on a job interview. I was having a drink with one of the interviewers when the prettiest girl I had ever seen walked by me. I said to the interviewer, “I’m sorry, but I cannot leave here until I have her phone number.”

I walked over to her, introduced myself (in an embarassingly corny way) and explained how I was interviewing for a job. I told her that when I got the job I wanted to come back into town and take her to dinner.

I got the job and two weeks later we had our first date.

We were married 13 months later, which happens to be nine years ago this day!

Many things have changed since the day we met. The job is different, we’ve moved, and have three wonderful kids. One thing, however, has not changed. She still is the prittiest girl I’ve ever seen.

Work at a state prison. I was a nurse in the clinic, and he was a guard. I get some pretty odd looks when I tell people I met my husband in prison! 😉

Work - a fine dining restaurant. She was a hostess, I was a waiter. She was a cutie, and somewhat quiet…not one of the “party girls”, so I was interested. She wasn’t.

Now somehow, I came to hear some psycobabble on some talk show talking about fostering the “nurture instincts” in a woman in order to get her interested in you. So I decided to lay a specific and detailed trap for my unsuspecting victim, eh, wife.

Now if a waiter had a button off of the tux or shirt, the hostess had a sowing kit and would stitch it back on. And everytime we were working the same shift, I’d secretly pop a button off of my shirt and have her sow it back on … did this every time we worked together for about a month straight. She had no choice but to fall madly in love with me.

That’s my story - and in all fairness to my wife, I must say that to this day she doesn’t believe it, and denies sowing buttons on my shirts more than once or twice. But I say it worked well…heheheheheheeh.

Well of course the relationship worked out! You were using 3.x Windows before Microsoft went and messed everything up. If you have been using Windows 95, you would have gotten fatal errors, and on Windows ME, it would have crashed before getting anywhere 😉

Well,if you really want to know, lol.I was 12 years old and trying to act much older.I was talking with some friends in their front yard when my husband drove by,he was 17 but thought I was older and talked a little and gave me his phone number.I called him, lying about my age,I told him I was 16.We started seeing each other. We did not have a Christian relationship in fact the subject never came up seriously.I became pregnant at 14.we had our first son, became married at 17 in the church although he is not Catholic and says he does not believe in God.To me,at the time,I did not have a relationship with God and so I did not think it was that important. To make a very long story short,we are still together,by the grace of God.We have 11 children now, ages 21,17,15,13,12,10,8,7,5,3,and almost 2 years. It hasnt been easy but I can honestly say, thanks to God that I am very blessed and one day my hubby will know God as his father.Pray for him if you will,His name is Eddie. 🙂

My wife “stuck it to me” within minutes of our first meeting.

Then she proceeded to drain my blood from me.

I thought she had a cute smile, and told her I had just ordered a new piano and it’s on its way ona boat from Japan, so when I get it would she like to come over and hear some Mozart?

I told her she could get my name from the paperwork.

Turns out she couldn’t. She dropped me a note with her phone number in the snack room.

This was at the Red Cross, where she was a phlebotomist, in 1985. Yesterday (June 1) we just celebrated our 18th anniversary. We took some of the kids out for dinner, then went to our own apartments and sent Instant Messages to each other! (I’m married to the girl next door; she has the even numbered kids and I the odd ones.)

Now isn’t that fitting that you get the “odd” kids? 😃

(Just kidding, Alan! I couldn’t resist. 😉 )

My Sister and I were visiting a friend from our home town In SC. He introduced me to my now hubby of 9 1/2 years. That was 11 years ago. It was love at first sight, but we were both hesitant to do anything about it until our friend gave a little push.

All I wanted was a female friend to study with. I had met what I thought was a very sweet girl in zoology class who asked me over to her house. I thought what a nice, serious friend that I have…no partying, nothing…just studying. Anyway, she asked me if I wanted to take a break from studying to get a beer and she promised that we were going to a nice quiet place. I had told her that I just had broken up with a boyfriend and didn’t want to meet anyone else, plus I hate bars. Something should of clued me in when she began to do her hair and put on heavy makeup, but, hey, I’m dumb. Well, she took me to a very noisy crowded place and then she proceeded to get very disturbingly drunk.

A tall lanky man with a large nose that she knew from work and his very handsome, blonde buddy came up to our table. I was immediatly interested in the blonde but much to my horror my nice, quiet friend began to remove her shirt and say very filthy things to the man. The lanky man kept assuring me that he knew that I wasn’t like my friend and offered to take me home. My friend was very drunk and couldn’t drive and didn’t want me to drive her home. My parents were not home, so I couldn’t call them for a ride. So, all four of us crowded into her coworkers tiny, Toyota truck and he dropped her off. During the drive, she sat on the blonde man’s lap and offered to do physically impossible things to him sexually. I was so relieved when the two of them got out of the truck and went home. SO much for my nice quiet study buddy.

Afterwards, the tall man and I sat alone and talked and talked. He gave me his coat and warmed up my hands by blowing on them. He was also very funny and made me feel complelty at ease. At one point he asked me for a kiss and I refused(I had just met him) He held out his hand and offered to thumb wrestle me for one. Now, how do you not fall in love with that? So, he won and man, what a kiss! I loved him right then. This October we will be celebrating our 17th anniversary.
