How did you know God answered your prayer?

That’s why I wish we had a living St. Padre Pio who I could visit and see God’s miracles through or something. Maybe I’m putting God unto a box but that’s the furthest thing from what I want. I just wish he could once verbalize and say I love you and don’t hate you or soemthing
I truly feel for you, and rest assured I’m interceding on your behalf.

Don’t under estimate the possibility that God will grant you a miraculous experience or sign or word from someone - however, at the same time, don’t over estimate the probability that God will grant such a miraculous occurrence to you. Miracles are, by nature, improbable and exceedingly rare events which God has to break his own natural Laws to work.

Have you thought that it was God’s Providence who guided you to this forum, and that God is now speaking to you through his people that frequent this forum? What if this is the answer to your prayers for the time being - can you accept that?

God loves us all … that’s not something you have to question … it is the main reason why He wants us to attend mass and come to Him … He wants a personal relationship with all of us.

See that’s why I need to! I’m literally putting God in a box and mentally I know I am and I don’t want that but at the same time I just for some reason continue to be stupid and selfish in asking for this. Maybe I should think about all the inspiration he has sent my way. On this forum so many people are praying for me and for some reason care about this journey I am on. I feel rather like Thomas the doubting apostle with more skepticism and less apostleness if that’s a word haha.

Maybe I’m not supposed to see the signs and have to belief on faith only. I’m not going to lie that’s what scares me most!
Even for people that have had miraculous experiences, they still struggle with sin and unbelief, trust me.

Great Mystic-Saints like St. Gemma and St. Faustina who had personal visits from Jesus himself and conversed with him face to face still struggled with sin, doubt, temptation.

If these literal Saints still struggled after experiencing the ultimate miracle (a visit from Jesus himself) do you honestly think something like seeing a shooting star twice will be the end all experience you need? I can tell you - it won’t be.

That’s true! That’s why ultimately I need to listen and be in silence. I’ll try to find some adoration around. Thank you for everything today! I really really am grateful!

Thank you I will make use of the sacraments! And try to pray and believe.

Also think of this -

How many people witnessed Jesus in the flesh, and saw him perform miracles like raising people from the dead and instantly curing blind people or disfigured lepers, etc?

And how many thousands of them either still didn’t believe all along, or relapsed into unbelief?

St. Peter himself denied Christ thrice.

All this just proves my point - the most miraculous experiences do not solidfy belief immovably - you still need to be convinced in your heart and have faith. You still need to be intellectually convinced of the truth. This is what the Graces of the Sacraments help to happen.

I’ll seek out the sacraments. God above all else I’m sure knows I need the grace.

So long as you are contrite for your sins and intellectually assent to the Church’s teachings, go and do it. (Remember, that means saying in your heart “I both believe and want to believe in all the Church teaches. I may not be 100% sure or convinced, but nevertheless I believe and make that leap of faith and trust in You.”)

Go make a Confession and then go to Mass and receive Communion - you very well may see a drastic increase in your faith or have a powerful encounter via the Sacraments.

I keep trying to just be silent after prayer but I never hear anything or feel any difference whatsoever. Maybe I’m approaching this whole faith issue incorrectly the problem is I understand God intellectually. I understand who he is supposed to be and his sacrifice and creation of us but no matter how many intellectual arguments I come to it’s always a what if it’s not true. People use the phrase basically you can’t seek God through science because you need metaphysics but why is God the only thing we can’t explain with science. Wouldn’t he have woven himself so tightly into creation that he is evident? Why not make it so we all definitely know. I know it eliminates free will but then how do you explain Fátima or Eucharistic miracles. Again though you guys are all that’s keeping me continuing on this hunt for truth. Even with things like Fátima it’s like how do we know it wasn’t the power of suggestion. That’s maybe my issue.

That is precisely what faith is.

Even the greatest Saints had those doubts.

If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have had faith - they would have just had knowledge.

I have two resources for you to check out:

An article on every student about God’s probability of Being: Is There a God? - 6 Reasons God Exists

Peter Kreef and his 20 arguments for God’s Existence: Twenty Arguments God's Existence by Peter Kreeft (& Ronald K. Tacelli)

Those arguments are very interesting! I need to think about these in depth!

Thomas Aquinas Quotes. To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.

Don’t give up hope … keep praying to God to increase your faith.

I will continue to do so. I’m really frightened though cause I have noticed no difference with regular prayer.

Adoration, receiving Communion and going to Confession can all help, also read the Gospels. Pray first and then open up the gospels and read from whatever page that opens up … I have had great comfort from doing that.
