How did you know God answered your prayer?

An old episode of Mother Angelica was on EWTN last night or so, she said about silence… say your prayer and then be silent. When you hear the silence, you think it’s nothing but it is the Holy Spirit. Right when you hear the silence… it’s the Holy Spirit. That’s when you say, “God, I love you.” That’s the beginning of contemplative prayer. She said a little more but I can’t remember …
