How do I foster Perfect Contrition? Everybody has the potential to have Perfection Contrition, but self-love often gets in the way. I know loving God because he is good is the primary and #1 goal of all Catholics (non-Catholics included), but the fear of going to Hell is overwhelmingly common and overshadows it. Obviously, those who don’t love the Lord, or are Lukewarm are on a Train-ride to Hell.
Loving the Lord because of the fear of his just punishments (Hell) seems wrong and disordered (and probably is).
How do we muster the Will to have Perfect Contrition when God gives us the grace to have it?
