How do I know if I'm born again?

By your rather unique definition, then King David is not a true Jew. His grandmother was Ruth, a Moabite. Since Jesus is in the bloodline of David, that would mean that Jesus is also not a Jew.

However, your point, inaccurate as it is, does not address the issue of infant circumcision. Please address the point I made regarding circumcision prefiguring baptism.

You do need the Holy Spirit to lead you to all thruth.
You get the Holy Spirit when you are born again.
So, basically from what I’ve been reading, you are trying to convert us to your personal beliefs, misslollipops? You don’t want to hear our testomonies about being “born again”. You appear to be here to tell us we’re wrong in our beliefs.

I was born again through Baptism. I reaffirmed that in First Holy Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. I reaffirm that every time I go to confession. I reaffirm that through having my children Baptised and guiding them in our faith.

I doubt that explaination will be good enough for you. It hasn’t been enough that every other Catholic who answered your post said the same thing I have. So why exactly are you here? Do you really what to learn something about our religion, or are you just trying to prove that we’re all going to hell? That won’t work on me, and I doubt it will work on anyone else here, either.

Too many people are talking past each other on this thread. No one is listening.

No point in talking if no one is listening.

I did, and answered you in post 751. With scripture. Let me know when you get around to answering it, please?

Baptism by the spirit is like cutting your flesh, that is why it is compared to circumcision. I have never felt anything like this before.

Could you cite that please? I understood that baptism in the Spirit was like cicrumcising one’s heart (spiritually), not one’s flesh.

Deuteronomy 10:16 So circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer…

Romans 2:28 - 29 A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.
No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.

Second, there was another question in there:
What if you’re brought up to accept and believe, and never have a conversion experience?

Around and around we go. I think we covered this in the first 20 posts.
People keep asking the same questions over and over. If I don’t answer I get accused of avoiding the question. My answers will be the same. As God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, His word is also unchanging.

I wish I knew how to post things like that.
I don’t even know how to post the scriptures I am quoting.
Not sure about the pictures but to post scriptures you copy it from your source (highlight the desired verse) right click and hit copy. Then hit the quote icon at the top of the reply page which is 4th from the right, right click again and paste it in the middle… grr I’m not good at explaining I’m afraid. The cursor will blink where you should paste your verse etc. Does that make sense? lol

If you go to Google and just type either the scripture reference or a fragment of scripture you can usually find multiple site with lots of different versions. With Google, you really no longer need a concordance.

We look forward to richer posts! 🙂

I love the way you throw out a citation without comment as though yours is the only possible interpretation of it. I don’t really even see how this one is even relevant except for verse 7 which seems to argue that if they are truly following God’s law, they must be saved.

Does someone brought up in the faith need to stray so that they can have a conversion? Do we do our children a disservice by bringing them up in the faith. It has been my experience that people who have a wham bang conversion are far more likely to revert to their old behavior than those who gradually grow in their faith.
