How do I prevent from showing that I'm bothered by my boss constantly criticizing my work?

Lately when my boss confronts me about mistakes, they say I look defensive or that I put off that vibe. I’m just staring at them and listening to the criticism, not being verbally defensive or anything.

We’re not there, so we don’t know.
And some people do have an aggressive resting face 🙂
Based on what you’ve written, I would advise simply nod and say okay when you’re corrected. (And then follow through on what the Boss wants)

If I were you, I would pray.
In this case you ought to show that you will comply. If you don’t act more positively, it may do you harm. In a case like this an employee could be laid off, or, at least, fail when it comes to raises or promotions.
But my advice too is to pray.

Read the encapsulated lives of the Saints and witness their utter humility. That humility allowed them to absorb criticism - both just and unjust. No one likes to receive criticism, and at some level, our defensiveness is a product of our pride and ego. Being aware of that, we can seek to throttle our pride and accept correction as being for our ultimate good.

Look at the pointing out of error (so irritating in others!) as a chance for growth, both professionally and spiritually. Just like confession, you may find that you keep repeating the same errors. 'Fess up and make a firm amendment to improve your work performance.

And, for criticism that is unjust, remember that to bear injustice with patience is a spiritual work of mercy. Lots of opportunities for growth here.
