How do I prove to Muslims that the Bible canon is not corrupted?

Muhammed and Muslims after him claim that both the Jewish and Christian scriptures are “corrupted”–i.e. both Moses and Jesus taught a “pure Islam” which was distorted and changed beynd recognition

The burden of proof is squarly on Muslims–otherwise, “an assertion with no proof can be dismissed with no proof”

Claims of Hebrew scriptural corruption run right into the testimony the Dead Sea scrolls, whose scriptual texts are from circa 200 BC–which means the next oldest texts are from 1200 years later with the Masoretic text–the 99+% agreement between the DSS and the Masoretic refutes the Muslim claim right then and there

As for the Christian texts, the multiple geographic sources and “streams” of textual transmission absolutley prevented any possible “bottleneck” of central authority (i.e. The Church as we know her) re-writing the NT–VERY unlike the Uthman caliphate’s undeniable “lock” on koranic edition and transmission

Some books were also considered inspired within some Christian communities but left out, these books the Church does not believe in their inspiration but they are good for history . And it’s those books that the Muslims embrace. The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Judas, etc, are constantly referred back as proof that the approved canon is corrupt because the list of books which they have embraced are not in the Bible.

When you explain that we believe the approved Canon is valid because the Church is under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Muslims will throw another curve ball and ask for proof that there is a Holy Spirit. They are taught that our belief in a triune God is polytheism and will drop the argument about Biblical corruption and engage you on proof of Jesus’ Sonship and the Holy Spirit. They will accuse you and Christianity of believing that there are three gods. Oh, they will also hit you with pedophile priests in the Catholic Church for good measure.

My suggestion is that you keep your friend on topic and do not allow him/her to change issues. You will know when they are unable to respond to your challenge to their arguments when they change topics. They will ask for absolute proof that Jesus is God and proof that He asked His followers to worship Him. They are very adept and demanding solid proof while they will reject any and all proof you give them. You can quote the Gospels and Epistles as well as the Old Testament until you are blue in the face, but they will reject them because they reject the Apostles. However, they will throw Biblical verses at you even though they do not believe the Sacred Scriptures are trustworthy. It’s all a vicious circle game they play.

Stay focused and don’t let them control the debate. There are many good apologists on this forum. Listen to them and do your homework. Above all, do not let them control the debate. They will try their best to sow seeds of doubt in your mind and try to convert you. They will come at you and attack everything you believe. Hang in there, God is on our side and pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit and you will do fine.

When they misquote scripture it reminds me of when Satan did the same with Jesus. When they mention they believe in Allah it reminds me of the verse which says that even demons believe. When I see their pious behavior followed by violence, I am reminded of that verse "who come to you in sheep’s clothing inwardly are ravenous wolves ". When they claim the Trinity is illogical, Jesus divinity is lies I am reminded of St. Paul’s “the untrained mind will fail to grasp the things of God”. Thankfully many are coming to believe once they see visions in their dreams.

You have an excellent grasp of the lies they promote. Read the lives of the early Church Fathers. Their writings will exemplify a true dedication to the teachings of Our Lord Jesus. They will show you how to defend your faith. Many of them sacrificed their lives for their Catholic Faith. The Muslims are misguided and blinded to the truth. They will pull every trick in the book to discredit the tenents of our faith. However you must show them that their prophet is a false prophet, and their Allah is not our God. And the Jesus in the Koran is not the Jesus in our Sacred Scriptures, for he refutes everything the only Begotten Son of the Living God taught.
 
If the Bible had become corrupted over the years, this does not mean that our God is corrupted.

God sees ALL.
