just to jump in this thread again before it closes and because i have recently been involved in a discussion on this topic do you believe a christian must believe in all three of those things to be a christian ? i do believe in the first and the third and believe those are a must but i dont believe in a virgin birth so would yoou then have it that i could not be a christian ?So does this apply to Hindus and Muslims and atheists as well?
While I certainly agree with you (if you’re making this point, which I am not certain that you are!) that we can only proclaim the Gospel, and the rest is up to the individual and the Holy Spirit…I’m still not sure where you draw the line. Must you believe in Christ? Must you believe in the Virgin Birth? What about the Trinity?
in my own personal view to be a christian you must believe in jesus , the trinity and abide by the two greatest commandments to the best of your ability . the rest is down to your own conscience as to what other parts you have your faith in.
