So you are saying that individual catholics such as yourself, go out and do such things as: Street Ministry, serve food to the homeless, work concerts, and witness to strangers you may encounter?
Lapey
Yes, I & others in the Catholic Church do and have for some 2000 years. Why do you think the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so widely known? We have been preaching it since He was crucified and rose from the dead. The difference is we don’t always use words, only when necessary as St. Francis so wisely put it. I preach at my work by my actions, at Church by my actions, on the road by my actions, etc. You get the picture; although I will admit to never working a concert, though I didn’t read that in Matthew’s Gospel.

Do you put into practice Matthew 28:19-20, and Matthew 25:31-40? I know that the cc as a whole donates money, has hospitals, and missionaries, but I wonder about the average "Joe catholic.
Lapey
Yes I do, and Catholics have since the beginning of the Church. Joe catholic has many options to get involved personally in mission work, although it won’t be listed on the front page of the newspaper. The majority of Church Parishes have mission projects currently working all over the globe, not all but most. My home parish does not, however it is one of my goals after ordination to the diaconate, guess what that word means (you got it service), is to get a mission set up for our parishioners to become active globally. Some already participate in mission work with our neighboring parishes.
We have a regional mission group that has done quite a bit of work with the hurricane relief as I am located in South Louisiana. Guess what the name of this group is, you got it Matthew 25!!!
It is always amazing to me how much has to be overlooked to believe what others see as truth, the truth never changes it just seems to go unseen.
