Dear friends :),

Trads seem to be the most-outspoken people when it comes to indignant words about the gay agenda, but how do we actually stop it? Conservative people may go on and on, but if all we do is complain how can we convince anyone against it? Many “liberal” or “modern” Catholics ignore the issue, or openly accept them. Is there a specifically “traditionalist” way we can approach and deal with the problem of homosexual infiltration? By “infiltration”, I mean something like what’s going on for “Pride Week” at our municipal public libraries:

*Adult Programs: Reading Out Loud

You’ll hear thoughtful, brash, painful, funny, titillating and honest passages from works of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer literature. Readers will share why the stories resonate in their lives. Open books — open minds. Co-sponsored by Venus Envy*.

(Venus Envy is an openly-flamboyant gay fetish-toys store)

*Adult Programs: Hands-On Pride

An all-out, full participation, action games night for The Bold and The Watchful. The Library provides a selection of improv games, contests, and challenges for the audience to interpret and perform any way they please. A fast-paced 90 minutes of silliness to start your night.

I know children many not be officially privy to this celebration of the abomination of desolation of the soul, but who knows what will happen? Kids are very resourceful, and if they feel that they’ve been unfairly kept out of some secret event, they’ll try to get in. The more proactive gay guardians and ‘parents’ will probably bring the poor creatures in. How can we react to this overwhelming invasion of the entire public, social, and civil sphere by the gays? 😦 They’re everywhere!

Why do you stop at just the “gay agenda?” There is sin all around; are you asking how to point out the speck in everyone’s eye?

Are you talking about activism against pro gay community programs? Or are you referring to educating individuals regarding the gay agenda and Church teachings on the natural created order of humanity?

If it’s the first, I have no idea but I’m interested in any suggestions others have.

If it’s the second, Theology of the Body and the sacramental liturgical world view through podcasts like A Body of Truth or books on theology of the body are good sources for education.

I think supporting organizations and people that promote faithful Church teaching either financially or with a donation of time is important. So buy from their advertisers or send them a check directly.

I’m glad that someone is asking this question. unfortunately I don’t see many answers.
As a father of 2 teens and a 3 month old, I find it EXTREMELY important to be very proactive on this front. I just don’t know where to start. With the signing of the bill here in Cali to start teaching homosexual, transgender, & bisexual history, my wife and I have decided that homeschooling for our 3 month old is our only option. Our teens are almost out of school so we will continue to do everything we can to help guide them on this front.

As the other person said on here, prayer is BEYOND important. However, I think it is our duty as Catholics and guardians of our faith to speak openly with charity about this somehow. This movement is obviously a full on frontal assault on the image of a Holy Family. I do understand that there are people with these particular temptations, however it is the actual movements by different groups that are dangerous and essential attempting to FORCE us into acceptance. I keep trying to re-iterate that they ask for Tolerance… not Acceptance. They are 2 completely different actions. Our President, definitely doesn’t help at all. Neither do have these politicians who lie to get into office and then bait and switch us.

What are we going to do? I worry about the future of our children…

Prayer is the best thing to do, other than send letters of opposition, and to speak out, but prayer first and foremost.

We can start by loving the sinner but hating the sin.

Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. Less and less people believe homosexual acts are wrong.

I agree the best thing to do is to pray.

I don’t recommend picketing outside a library.

I would say with the Truth without fear. The Word of God is the ultimate weapon against evil. Keep the Traditional Mass alive.

I like the idea of “love the sinner, hate the sin”. I recently had a debate with a staunch supporter of gay rights, especially their right to engage in the sex act. I found some great material in the Catechism and in Scripture on the subject and, after a lengthy conversation, convinced her to at least consider the fact that the best way for her to show love and respect to her same-sex-attracted friends was to put their souls as a priority rather than their personal legal freedoms.

In talking to people about this, it is easy to blow up or get angry. But if you can manage to keep a cool head and focus on the important matter (the reaching out to souls with Christs’ love) you can get your point across lovingly, charitably, and without compromising the Truth.

Just for what it is worth, here are the references I used to show the danger that those persons souls were in and what the Church calls them toward:
Genisis 19:1-29; Romans 1:24-27; 1Corinthians 6:9-10; 1Timothy 1:10 and CCC 2357-2359.

As a mother, I am very concerned about sexual immorality and how that affects children and young people. I guess education is crucial. I will teach my kids that they should be very careful about what they hear at school in sex ed class and not to listen to anybody except mom and dad when it comes to these things. I know this is not a sophisticated approach but I can’t isolate them from the reality of the western society and its sick ideologies. And of course, prayer.

When it comes to questionable material being displayed in public spaces like a library, it is important to speak up and ask for it to be removed. Jesus created a few scenes when he was scandalised, so why shouldn’t we? This ‘hate the sin, love the sinner’ sounds wonderful but being loving and tolerant is not the answer when we are dealing with an intolerant and aggressive movement.

I guess by actually calling homosexual acts exactly what they are…immoral and gravely disordered. We don’t give ambiguous statements regarding homosexuality like some laity, priests, and bishops do. If you all haven’t heard of the case in El Paso you all should look into it. The priest there is not afraid to share what the Church teaches on this subject and has gotten a lot of attention. His orthodoxy has left him alone but he is a faithful and great priest!

Is the priest you mentioned Father Rodriguez? I saw a video of him speaking at a city council meeting about something to do with work benefits for homosexual ‘couples’. He was very forthright, but charitable when he spoke. And he’s not afraid to speak the Truth!

Here in New York State, our so-called ‘catholic’ governor signed a bill legalizing homosexual ‘marriage’, and the first so-called ‘weddings’ will be happening this coming Sunday. I am so heartsick over this-and darn angry too!

Why is it that the homosexual agenda gets all the attention and all the big bucks, and those of us who believe in traditional morality and traditional marriage end up being called ‘intolerant’? Why are we always disorganized and fighting with each other, and the homosexuals seemingly always united?

I have the feeling that our country is going to struck by God’s Justice sooner rather than later!

This is explained by the fact that they are a one-trick pony. Catholics have a hundred thousand issues to worry about in theology, philosophy, social ethics, civics, and morality. Homosexual-agenda-ists (as it were) can be conservative, liberal, atheist, religious, and a million other things, and still be pro-“gay”. Our problem is specifically that we have so many things to worry about, things that seem more important, that this gets shoved aside. Babies getting murdered by the millions is somewhat crucial compared to this, for example.

Yes Father Rodriguez. We need more like him!

As far as why the homosexual agenda seems united more than the traditional morality group I can only speculate. We are indeed united, check out the Ruth Institute or NOM. People of all faiths are joining for traditional marriage and working together. The problem I believe is some groups that are stronger and have more influence (Catholic Church) are so weak and in many cases remain silent to the cause when they should be speaking against it like Father Rodriguez. Unfortunately, we seem to be unresponsive especially at the Bishop level because some are homosexual themselves. We are thus caught in a hypocritical situation. I believe the Bishop of Albany (where the bill was passed) is sympathetic to the homosexuals (they say he is homosexual himself) and that is why he remained silent. It’s sad but we are getting strong armed by lying politicians and weak leadership.

I must admit that in my active speaking out against homosexual marriages, adoptions and the gay propaganda that I’m surrounded by, I’ve been called a number of insulting names, I’ve been actually attacked, banned from speaking (at university events in particular) and generally mistreated.

It’s not that I don’t know what I’m talking about either- I had to make the choice to either act in defiance of God’s will in following my own bisexual feelings, or following what the Bible teaches and pleasing God instead of myself. I chose the second option and I can only say that the price I’ve paid in doing so has been worth the rewards I’ve received, am receiving and will receive.

One of the biggest problems in the UK certainly is that (IMO) there is no one unified front for traditional moral thinking. Individuals on their own hold little sway over anyone, but enough people standing together aren’t going to be ignored. Major problem is finding those who are willing to not just ‘believe’ something, but actually DEFEND it, PROCLAIM it and not compromise one bit to suit the wishes of the politically correct majority.

If people who hold to the traditional family structure and traditional morality, whether Catholic, Christian, any other religion or even the irreligious, came together, people would listen. An organised movement would be able to do great things.

I wonder if things have to get really bad for this to happen.

I think that money dictates and rules. I think many in the Church today have let their minds be corrupted by the greedy of money. I think when they don’t speak up against it is because they don’t want to lose the money from imorals who have it. They have abandon the Laws of God to follow those who have money. You know, the love of money that is what I see today.

I think it is a little too late now. They have made laws that uphold immorality. Until the leaders of the Church beging to unify and speak up, no one will listen. God have given them the authority to do but they have not used. it is shamefull.

Respectfully, I think the time for “just” praying is over with. It has done no good simply to pray; the situation has only gotten worse, so we need to actively evangelise. Prayer is not a magical formula that immediately brings about the conversion of distant unbelievers and sinners. We can’t treat it as if we can just pray 1000 rosaries and our Lady will send some graces into the mind of the homosexual activist. If their souls are closed to grace and to God, only our gentle and firm hand will be able to open it again.

Our Lord and Saviour made the bishops into His voice on Earth. When the bishops fail, the disciples have the honour-bound duty to be His voice again. As much as I love prayer, whispers in the dark have proven to be useless if we do nothing else against this leviathan.
