I am Jewish and have been exploring the Catholic Church. I am fairly convinced that if Christianity is true, then the Catholic Church is the true church. How do we know Jesus is the messiah and is who he says he is?
I have studied some of the proof texts from both Christian and Jewish homoletic standpoint and am torn on which to believe.
I have decided not to post it in public but instead to send you messages in private regarding passages so that you can see.
I can tell you I will not be able to answer all the questions such as where how does part…

because I do not have the authority to personal intrepetation as catholic doctrine jsut like yours you do not have authorization to personal intrepetation since we both share that it is truly God Speaking the living word. In the Jewish view Only the Rabbi has the Authority to translate in the catholic View only the Priest can Translate. That is why I say it is best to ask a catholic priest but I can help you quote some areas so that He may guide you to reveal the truth.
you see Christianity is not an abolishment of the principles of traditional Judaism, it is the continuation because everything is fulfilled for us.
So the question in not which you are torn to believe because like I said Catholic (from the greek word kathau= Universal) Christianity is a continuation of it.
The difference is that some do not want to believe that the prophesies has been fulfilled. while in Christianity we Say the prophesies of the Messiah are already fulfilled. resources are on the way.
In more modern forms of Judaism now in its modern context refers the messiah as not as God but someone that helps their people like Moses. but in ancient times as you know and have studied (in hassidic Judaism as well as orthodox Jews still believe in it and traditionally conservative Judaism believed it up till recently) they believe that the messiah is the Son of the Living God but in their view they are still waiting for him as you know through your studies.
as you know we have the Holy Old Testament which is a combination of The Holy Torah, NEVI’IM, and KETHUVIM.
The New Testament is where everything is fulfilled and explains why and how.
There is part that I have not published because you need to see it in private those parts in private. one of them being Lamentations Chapter 3. parts of it is in connection to the Messiah but no one understood it till it was fulfilled through Our Lords crucifixion.

I’ll send few emails with resources. few questions I will answer but if it is very deep to the point that it is not my place to answer the question I will not explain I do not mean to be rude but that is because I believe that specific question only belongs to a priest to be able to answer because they study this for years and years to be able to answer none of us will be able to answer a deep Theological or philosophical question of such nature, because it only belongs to him since Our Lord gave him that kind of authority which I’ll also will send you that link as well on the right time.
