Not its not, Robert. Its the truth - your thread here is overly simplistic. Moreover, it always ends up being a vehicle for your views on the evils of capitalism - which is always expressed as an attack on “greedy, power hungry and prestige seekers.” So no, I view your question as simplistic and ultimately with an ideological ax to grind. This is my honest take so please don’t consider it rude and disrespectful. It’s rude and disrespectful!
It’s a sad day when a fellow Catholics cannot post their views because of ingrained hostility from another Catholic who differs in opinion. LOVE, brother! Not its not, Robert. If I encountered someone who was truly interested in helping the starvation of innocent children, I’d recommend they either give to a charity or even do some time working on a mission in a country where the starvation is particularly bad (not the US). Politically, I would vote for those who might help the 3rd world abandon socialism and institute free-market economies because the free-market is the best way to boost poor people’s standard of living.
Or, to put it in 10 words:
Give to charity. Down with socialism. Up with the free market.

People are aware of it in the sub-conscience. If people would become fully aware of the reality of starvation, they would freak-out over how the world just turns their backs to this crime against humanity. It’s not just an unfortunate outcome, but a most hideous crime being conducted right under our noses.Robert with all due respect I believe most Catholic are aware of the suffering and hunger that occurs in the world.
It is a crime but nonetheless 26 million child sacrifices every year are worse.People are aware of it in the sub-conscience. You can post your views but stop trying to impose them on us.It’s a sad day when a fellow Catholics cannot post their views because of ingrained hostility from another Catholic who differs in opinion. LOVE, brother!
Please show me where I’m imposing my views on anyone? Why are you so defensive? You can post your views but stop trying to impose them on us.
Robert Sock, I am on your side. More power to you! Speak out brother!Starvation is a crime being continually committed by society. Please stick to the topic of this thread. If you want to change the topic, open a new thread.
Your whole thread (and the others you opened on this topic) absolutely imply that nobody alive should live happy lives as long as there are poor and starving in the world. Please show me where I’m imposing my views on anyone? Why are you so defensive?
I am not hostile to your opinion. I do think it is overly simplistic, though. You seem very defensive. But, Robert, I would like to ask you your own question: how do you deal with the starvation of innocent children? I mean, do you give to charity? Work to alleviate the starvation? do you have a solution? I have told you what I would do. Maybe you can tell me what you would do.It’s a sad day when a fellow Catholics cannot post their views because of ingrained hostility from another Catholic who differs in opinion. LOVE, brother!
I hold the starving in my heart and pray for them!I am not hostile to your opinion. I do think it is overly simplistic, though. You seem very defensive. I think the converse is Satan’s follies.Robert Sock asks a BIG question :** “How do you deal with all the extreme poverty in the world?”**
How does anyone deal with something over which they have absolutely NO control?
The BIGGEST thing I can offer to any Human Being, is to pray to God the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit for them.
At this point, I have done the ONLY real thing to help them.
Though, in my case, I have tithed 10% of my income to non-Profits for all of my adult Life.
At that point, I ask God to help me NOT become consumed with negative emotions about all of the problems of the World.
Jesus wants us Happy.
I want to obey Jesus.
So, I attempt to NOT dwell on things (over which I have NO control) which will just bring me pain.
Satan wants everyone to NOT be Happy, to NOT be Spiritual, to just focus on the World, instead of God.
He is an expert at pushing all of the right “buttons” … to deprive us of our intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
So, do Jesus a favor : Don’t cave in to Satan’s follies.
So in other words, you do nothing to alleviate their material suffering. Yet, you think it is the duty of governments, corporations and individuals around the world to solve the problem. Got’chaI hold the starving in my heart and pray for them!
But I do what I can! What do you do?So in other words, you do nothing to alleviate their material suffering. Yet, you think it is the duty of governments, corporations and individuals around the world to solve the problem. Got’cha--------->
