“I have had a really hard time lately trying to figure out what it is that God wants me to do with my life. Any suggestions?? I really want to live according to his plan for me, but don’t know where to start or even what it is!!”
Jamie, God’s will manifest in our life daily. What is infront of you work on it. Example in my life, I am a wife no child, and I am working everyday.
I pledge my day to God and offer my day to , and like you I wanna do God’s will. And part of "doing God’s will in my life I felt the call to go to the Mass every morning before going to work. In which I never ever did in my life ever before, I persevere on it because its hard to get up early… but the desire is so strong. Then I have this strong “urges” to read the POEM OF MAN-GOD book, I am already on the 5th Volume, and I also prefer to silence now than just watching tv after work… I used to resist this feeling… but I know now this is God’s will for me, I do not know what He is preparing me for though, but I work on what is being place infront of me…
Yesterday, I was so tired coming home from work, but I felt the need to clean the messy house, and at 9:15pm when my husband got home the house is so clean already, toilet clean, sink is clean of dirty dishes and I have read about 2 chapter of my book and not watching tv… it feels soooo good. My husband was so happy and appreciated my initiative of cleaning, in spite of my body aches and full day of work… And I can reflect now that God doesn’t really require us too much beyond our capability, but listening to His queue is an order of things and it is beautiful…
God’s will is not hard to descern really. Just wake up, praise God for the good night sleep and do your normal day. Do it with joy (this prayer already). Even if your knees and back is aching…(remember St Terese the little flower). If you are called to do something big (remember Mother Teresa of Calcutta), the answer is always infront of you. You just have to decide to do it. If you dont do it, it is up to you, God will not get mad at you. If you ask His guidance for decision making, He will place it in your heart and you will always leaning to that BEST answer… sometimes even if the first, second and the third try failed… it is in the trying that you also building muscles with your wings. Trust whole heartedly with what you are doing because it is hard to please God without TRUST.
If you are called to serve in the Army, religious or even in your community, serve will. Just remember that by serving others you serve God.
Thanks,
