Actual graces strengthen our will in doing what is right. Sanctifying grace brings much to us. Gifts of the holy Spirit from Modern Catholic Dictionary:
The seven forms of supernatural initiative conferred with the reception of sanctifying grace. They are in the nature of supernatural reflexes, or reactive instincts, that spontaneously answer to the divine impulses of grace almost without reflection but always with full consent. The gifts are wisdom ( sapientia ), understanding ( intellectus ), knowledge ( scientia ), fortitude or courage ( fortitudo ), counsel ( consilium ), piety or love ( pietas ), and fear of the Lord ( timor Domini ).
And Theological Virtues:
A good habit of the mind or will, supernaturally infused into the soul, whose immediate object is God. The theological virtues are faith, hope, and charity.

Alright glad to see we’re on the same page, and yes it does feel superstitious and rather uncomfortable. And it can be hard to communicate when every group seems to interpret the Bible differently with varying amount of literalism. And that would be what it pushing me to the originally established Church. I’ve yet to find an early church father who would have a Protestant understanding of what “the church” is and this is one of the pillars on which they stand. Thanks for the book idea, I’ll tack it on to my next order.

Yes, this plethora of interpretations was the same thing that pushed me back to the Church into which I was baptized. That being said, I did learn a lot from my separated brethren. The Pentecostals are certainly passionate to hear and respond to the Holy Spirit, albeit somewhat misplaced.

The Baptists taught me a love for Scripture that I never had growing up in a Catholic home where the Bible was not read or discussed.

Yes, it was a class in Historical Theology that pushed me over the edge on my journey home. I realized, reading the Fathers, that the Church founded by Christ is Catholic.

To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant. ~ Cardinal Newman

It doth feel it, I say, with an understanding so marvellous and so profound, and with such great love and divine fire, that it loseth all love for itself and for the body, and it speaketh and knoweth and understandeth those things of the which it hath never heard from any mortal whatsoever. And it understandeth with great illumination, and with much difficulty doth it hold its peace ; and if it doth hold its peace, it holdeth it out of the abundance of its zeal, that it may not be displeasing unto God its Lover nor cause offence, and likewise by reason of its humility ; for it desireth not to speak of things so exceeding high that it may not draw attention unto itself.

Corrinthians monks are best known have more gifts from the Holy Spirit.

1 Corr 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?

The body temple is the same as Temple of God which has Outer place for women, Holy place for men to worship and Ark place with the Holy Spirit and the torn veil after the Crucification.

2 Corinthians 3:16 when one turns to the Lord, the veil [of the temple] is removed.

John 14:26 the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.

God commanded Hebrews to build the Temple in order to understand the body temple! Holy Christians can consult with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit does not reside inside the unbelievers’ body, but only demons fill in. Sins would open invitation for demons to enter the body temple.

2 Corinthians 4:3 even if our gospel is veil ed, it is veil ed to those who are perishing.

Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting .

Guess what or who. 😄

God bless and Merry Christmas.

The other way whereby the soul knoweth that God is within it is by an embrace which He doth give unto the soul. There is neither father, nor mother, nor son, nor any other person whatsoever who can embrace the object beloved with so great a love as that wherewith God embraceth the soul. For He doth embrace it with such love and draw it unto Himself with such sweetness and gentleness that methinketh there is not a man in the world who can declare it, nor express it, nor believe it unless he hath himself experienced it ; and although he might perchance divine somewhat of this love, yet could he not possibly know it as it truly is. Of a surety, God doth implant most sweet love in the soul, the which doth make it burn for Christ alone. And it beareth with it so great a light (whereby it understandeth the fulness of the goodness of God which it experienceth within itself) that it hath understanding of much more than it feeleth within itself.
Then hath it the assurance and certitude that Christ dwelleth within it ; but all that we can say is as nothing in comparison with that which it really is. Then the soul hath no more tears, whether of joy or of sorrow or of any other kind, seeing that when the soul hath tears it is in a lower state. For God poureth into the soul an exceeding great sweetness, in a measure so abundant that it can ask nothing more yea, verily, it would be in Paradise if this should endure, its joy being so great that it filleth the whole body ; and all injury which the soul suffereth, whether by deeds or words, is esteemed as naught and is turned into sweetness.

Scripture always rings true to me. I have been praying not to judge so quickly. My thoughts change when I step away , pray and find scripture that points me in a better route. I also find that grabbing sentences in scripture is not as valuable as the content before and after as to not be twisted or amended. My Catholic is not the same as all Catholics. I do not think I have to change to Orotestant and if u think so do I have to match questions and answers. No I do not need to change churches. Those are buildings. Love this piece of scripture. Jude 20-25 New International Version (NIV)

20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

i find that true in this Catholic forum blog, so much righteousness. Absolute Truth is truth by definition but that can be argued. Faithful, bible reading, loving God is a great route to the voice of God but that can be argued. Christians are in this together as the Pope just stated. Check out his Christmas message.

According to St John: The Holy Spirit is the Helper after the Crucification. It has different helping ways and results as you see the difference in great prophets, apostles and later day saints according to God’s plan. You can pray any good ways you like as long as when you wake up and often see both your hands crossing on the chest then you would understand. 😄

Additional to Corr 6:19,

St Paul explains the physical body consists body and spirit, and the Church or spiritual body means our soul in Corr 15:44 "There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."**

Christianity has Trinity God.

The spirit of Christ is always with us.

The church is the body of Christ.

God gave each of us a Temple of Holy Spirit inside the body, whether or not same concept with Solomon Temple of God, according to the Gospel.

The Father and Christ also speak through the Holy Spirit.

I know that the Holy Spirit has changed my life at certain stages of my life…without a doubt…instantly changed

It varies, as the Spirit is infinite. Sometimes, He almost takes my breath away. Other times, he produces an almost electric sensation, indicating His presence. One particularly notable experience (from another thread):
The most memorable was over a decade ago. At a charismatic event, we had been singing and praising God all morning, with the opportunity for confession at lunch time.

As I was confessing, Father and I entered into a dialog about my purpose and a good penance. I differed and began to disagree with him. It struck me very suddenly that I was not arguing with Father, but with Christ!I I spiritually collapsed and submitted to the advice and penance I was assigned.

As Father was pronouncing absolution, I suddenly began shaking violently - my entire body. So badly that Father took hold of me to keep me from falling from my chair. As he did so, he looked heavenward and said in a deep voice, “Oh, Holy Spirit!”

A flood of tears came and I left weeping. Pure chastisement, absolution and grace, all at once - in an unforgettable manner. I am shedding tears as I type this, as it was the most overpowering reception of grace that I have experienced.
