Out of the thousands of religions in the world, how do you know yours is right? I’m asking every individual that read this; how do you know you’re right on this?

Just a question. (:
I Like this write up!

I’ve also had some extremely spiritual experiences… These can not be written off. I’m not crazy (at least no one has proven it… ;)) I know them for REAL. You tie that up with info as listed in the link above… I just know…

Regardless of where you stand… If you keep your heart open to heavenly experience, you do yourself justice. Continue to search… You will find the answers you are looking for!!!👍

I’m familiar with him, hard core atheist

There were Thousands of non believers at those two events though, they called it, God and the Blessed Mother. Muslim PHDs confirmed the healings. All the info is out here. Just have to read it. Belief is up to you. Pretty convincing evidence though IMHO

Dawkins is an atheist who believes in nothing. Research the events and reach your own conclusion, your smart enough to decide for yourself. Why take the word of this man?

That would be no different than taking my word. Don’t listen to anyones converstion attempt. Read, read and read some more. The truth is out here in this day and age. But you can believe this, the history of man, is the war of good and evil. definaty come to that truth.

The Bible was written my Christians 2000 years ago. All scholars, then reviewed by scholars as each generation passed. Starting with Christs Disciple the Apostle Peter. Pretty significant eveidence

All life is, is a period granted by God with free will given to either chose God or satan. Thats all it comes down to. And when you follow a man like Dawkins by default you chose satan. And ignorance isn’t an excuse since Christ is known world wide. We all believe we are so important and of such significance. Just tiny little grains of sand really, with our worst enemy being “self”. Image, ego, attitude, facade, an every other wonderful human trait. All of which we can rise above.

Nobody denies the Resurrection of Christ.

Listen if Christ wasn’t true. Why didn’t the people simply scream HERES THE BODY. Because there was no body my friend. God raised the body. Thats THE significant event of the New Testament. Pilot and his wife knew he was God. The Roman guards who killed and speared him realized he was God after they killed him.

Take your time and read bro. Its all out here.

Peace, GT
First off im not a guy! Second off, i already told you im a believer!

I just think dawkins is a very very very smart man who knows what hes talking about… for the most part. I don’t think he truly understands god. However you guys should check out the JREF. 🙂

Million dollar prize to anybody who can prove they have the power to speak to god.

Have you read anything? I already told you I found MY truth.
Geez, is this clear enough? I am a christan believer in the bible. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

I was just wondering why you think you’re so right.

Oh, and im not male either. My name is Brittany. I don’t know any men named Brittany, do you?

Brittany, m’dear, chill. Your screen name, ‘BlueShadow,’ is gender neutral. Well, mostly it is. If you look at the stats for those who post to such forums as this, it has been historically true that more men than women post. As well, until the politically correct police showed up, the English standard was…if you don’t know the sex of the person, you automatically say ‘he.’

…and we haven’t come up with an appropriate and graceful gender neutral pronoun yet…unless you like to be called 'it?"

So.

If you don’t make your gender clear in your screen name (rather like I have…'dianaiad" has only once been mistaken for a masculine name) then don’t get P’O’d if people call you ‘sir’ or ‘he.’

I know but ive posted that im a girl already like 4 times in this thread.
Oh well. And yea, i figured you were a girl by diana, but I didnt understand the ‘iad’ part.

I like the god delusion movie because it gets you thinking. I have said many times however, that even though he makes good statements, its because he does not understand god, and he has not seen proof of god like others have. I have my own stories of proof to myself aswell, but those are long stories, lol. But don’t be confused. It lets me know that there is a god, but doesn’t tell me which one is true. I just stick to christianity because it makes the most sense to me.

It’s a word play. Kind of a geeky one, actually. Diana was the Greek goddess of the hunt, and naiads are nymphs of the sea. So, if you put them together they almost (only almost) make a palindrome…Dianaiad. If it helps you pronounce it “die’ uh ny’ ad”

Told you, geeky.

Still, nobody else uses it anywhere at all, and on the internet, that’s kinda unique. 😉

LOL I am a mythology nut, gonna have to do a slight correction (please don’t take me wrong way!) Diana is the Roman’s goddess of the Hunt, the Greeks had Artemis 🙂 🙂 They are in all the same goddess cos the Roman’s “borrowed” a lot of the mythology from the Greeks.

On topic:
Knowing what is “right” religion should be on a personal level of an individual. Everyone loves to be the correct, right one to preach their religion to everyone, and boast that “your” religion is wrong and “mine” is right.

Friend BlueShadow,

I think most of us…if not all of us…choose a faith tradition because it 'makes the most sense" to us. My understanding of the gospel of Jesus of Nazareth and church history points me away from Catholicism, Mormonism, Evangelicalism, Fundamentalism and a host of other “isms”…Quakerism makes the most sense to me and through my own experience with the Eternal, I have the tools in the Society of Friends to worshp, live and find peace in a world where peace is so often in short supply.

As a Friend, I believe “that of God” resides in each of us…and the Light Within is a sure and certain guide for living. I’m sure friend Richard Dawkins struggles with his own understandings as he is “nudged” by the Light…friend Richard “sees” the work of God’s Hands and is awed by it’s mystery and majesty…even now “that of God” in friend Richard is wooing…calling…and loving him to Wholeness.

In this world we “see through a glass darkly…” One day “face to face, we shall know…”

There is no “proof”…but there is faith.

Wouldn’t be so sure of that. To a non-believer, they wouldn’t call it a miracle. They would call it luck. If miracles were real, I know plenty of people who need them…
The miracle of the sun at Fatima was predicted by Our Lady before it happened. whatever one thinks about the event itself, the fact that it was predicted and witnessed by people who hd not chosen to go to the Cova, indicate something oit of the ordinary.

with skeptics, the won’t believe as they haven’t experienced miracles before and also need to see proof before they believe

Lol. That works too.

*But there are things the catholic church teaches that are not in the bible.*
You mean like the Trinity?
Or “The Bible”
Or that everything MUST be in the Bible

It might be my lack of knowledge of the Catholic way of teaching, but doesn’t everything that is taught come from the bible?

Just curious 🙂

It is all based on the Bible (and common sense), and refined through the centuries. :amen: Very good question. Look at the link in my sig. Covers it all, with scriptural references.

Question out of curiosity: what does the pope have to do with the bible? Why is he considered so sacred?

That makes sense - and I like that idea that teachings are based on the bible and common sense. As on a personal level, I agree with some ideas but not all…well those ideas that I am familiar with. That is because of my background, and very open mind 🙂 🙂

I’m not searching for anything, I am a believer in god, but I admit that this might not be the ‘right’ religion. Islam might be right, the jews might be right. who knows. And you mention miracles. You cant prove that. You weren’t there to see it. Just because somebody else claims to see it, doesn’t mean its true. It wouldn’t hold up in today because its scientifically impossible. you have no proof whatsoever of it. Its based on faith. Faith, and only faith. And as a believer, I admit that it is only based on faith. I can’t prove god is real, and i certainly can’t prove any of the miracles in the bible are true
How do you know that your mom and dad are your real parents? How do you know that somebody didn’t falsify your birth certificate. If videos were taken of your birth, of your foot prints, how do you know those are actually yours? A change could have been made without your knowledge. You may say that proof of the DNA through science is proof, but how do you know that the lab technician was 100% correct? Can you be certain that somebody who discovered the DNA didn’t make a mistake somewhere that many now follow that procedure and maybe that person made a mistake that makes all results invalid? Won’t you have to be a scientist yourself to be able to know you’re 100% correct? But what if some professor fed you that wrong information that all of your results are invalid?
See where this can lead to?
You said its based on faith. But where did you learn about faith? You will answer from the Bible. But how do you know the Bible is correct. Were you there when God dropped it out of the sky? Or, how do you know the Bible to be true simply by reading it. Nowhere in the Bible do you find “This is the Bible which is the Word of God and anybody can read it and determine it for themselves that it is true”?
